Time-out timer:
To prevent long-term or accidental transmissions and save battery life, the radio emits a
continuous warning tone and automatically stops transmitting if press the [PTT] for 60
seconds continuously.
Auto-power save function:
With this function the battery life time is increased. The battery power save function
automatically turns on when the radio is not operated for 3 seconds.
Key lock function:
Press and hold the [MENU] to turn ON/OFF this function. When this function is on, the
icon appears on the LCD.
Monitor function (Squelch):
Press and hold the [MON] key for 3 seconds to turn on the monitoring function and listen
to weak signals. Also use this function to listen to background noise and adjust the volume
when you are not receiving.
Scan function:
Channel scan mode enables your radio to scan for active channels.
Press the [MON] key to turn on the channel scan function. When an active matched
channel is detected, your radio stops scanning on that channel and automatically resumes
scanning within a few seconds after the signal disappears. Press the [PTT] key to transmit
on the channel. Press the [MON] key again to disable channel scanning.
Transmitting call tones:
To transmit a call tone to other radios, press the [CALL] key. Press and hold the [CALL]
key to enter the call tone setting menu.
Room monitor function:
The "Room monitor" function allows your radio to detect voice/noises and transmit it to the
listening radios without pressing the [PTT].
The voice/noise monitoring radio cannot receive any communication in this mode.
Press the [MODE] key to turn ON/OFF the "Room monitor" function. The
display on the LCD when the function is on.
