To set the VOX function press the [MENU] key until LCD display "VOX". Press the [UP] /
[DOWN] key to change the VOX sensitivity level (OFF, 01-09). Press the [PTT] to save the
VOX level setting and exit menu or press the [MENU] key to continue with the settings.
Your radio has 9 VOX sensitivity levels. Setting the radio´s sensitivity level helps to
minimize the possibility of background noise triggering an unwanted transmission.
Dual Watch channel (2 CH) (MENU 06):
This function allows scanning the current channel and another channel alternately.
To set another channel and start dual watch function press the [MENU] key until "2 CH"
appears on the LCD. Press the [UP] / [DOWN] key to select the dual watch channel, and
then press the [MENU] key to confirm. Press the [UP] / [DOWN] key to select the
CTCSS/DCS codes for dual watch channel. Press the [PTT] to save the setting and exit
menu or press the [MENU] key to continue with the settings.
In dual watch mode:
1) The LCD will alternate between the current channel and dual watch channel.
2) Press [MON] key to exit the the dual watch function.
When you set a channel as a dual watch channel, "2 CH" icon will show in the channel you
selected.
Then dual watch function is on and the radio will start to scan both the current
channel/code and the selected channel/code and stop when one of the channels is active.
When you press the [PTT] to transmit on an active channel, the dual watch scan will stop
and remain on the active channel for 10 seconds before resuming scan when you release
the [PTT].
Keypad Beep (MENU 07):
With this function you will hear a "beep" each time a key is pressed.
To turn ON/OFF the keypad beep press the [MENU] key until the LCD shows "bp". Press
the [UP] / [DOWN] key to turn ON/OFF the keypad "beep". Press the [PTT] to save and
exit menu or press the [MENU] key to continue with the settings.
SHORTCUT FUNCTIONS:
LED Flashlight function:
Press the key to turn ON/OFF the LED flashlight.
Vibration alert function:
The vibration alert function can notifies you that your radio is receiving a call. This is useful
in noisy environments. The vibrate alert will be triggered when you received a call.
OFF = Turn Off the VOX function.
9 = High sensitivity for quiet environments.
5 = Medium sensitivity for most environments.
1 = Low sensitivity for noisy environments.
