MULTI-LEVEL GRILL RACK
The multi-level grill rack allows you to grill simultaneously on
multiple levels. This means different foods can be cooked in dif-
ferent temperature ranges. Furthermore, the multi-level grill rack
provides a bigger grill surface than a conventional grill rack.
The two-part deflector plate can be used both for baking pizza
or bread and for indirect grilling. It shields the food being cooked
from the open embers and direct heat. This means the food is
cooked slowly and gently without burning.
The two halves of the deflector plate can also be inserted into the
frame individually and at different heights, as required.
USE
PLEASE NOTE!
■ WARNING! This barbecue will become very hot, do not
move it during operation.
■ Only use the barbecue if it has been assembled properly in
accordance with these assembly and operating instructions
and is undamaged. Do not use the barbecue without the
associated frame.
■ Before you use it, set up the barbecue on a secure, stable,
horizontal, flat and fire-resistant surface which is not made of
glass or plastic.
■ The barbecue may be filled with a maximum of 1200 g of
fuel.
■ Before barbecuing for the first time, heat up and allow the
fuel to glow for at least 30 minutes to harden the lacquer
coating.
■ Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.
■ At high temperatures, open the barbecue lid slowly and
carefully to avoid flare-ups, which could cause injury.
■ Never pour water onto the hot barbecue to avoid burns and
scalding.
1. Insert the charcoal grate into the charcoal tray.
2. Layer charcoal up on the charcoal grate. Note the maximum
permitted amount.
L
You can also mix smoking chips in with the charcoal to
produce a smoky flavour.
3. Place one or two solid firelighters on top and ignite.
4. Wait until you see white ash on the charcoal. The charcoal is
then in the optimum condition and you can start barbecuing.
5. Insert the grill rack.
6. Place the food on the grill rack and close the lid.
7. You can regulate the temperature in the barbecue with the
amount of air supplied: the more air, the more heat. Open or
close the ventilation grille or air flow regulator, as required.
8. To turn off the barbecue, stop adding fuel and close the lid,
the ventilation grille and the air flow regulator. Allow the
barbecue to cool down before you move it.
L
Cracks can form in the ceramic over time. However, this
is not a defect and does not affect the properties of the
barbecue.

CLEANING AND STORAGE
PLEASE NOTE!
■ Allow all parts to cool down completely before you empty or
clean the barbecue, place a cover over it or store it away.
■ Do not clean the deflector plate in the dishwasher and do not
immerse it in water!
■ Do not use water or liquid cleaning agents to clean the barbe-
cue! The ceramic could burst if it absorbs liquid.
■ Do not fill with water or expose to rainfall for a prolonged
period.
• Once all parts have cooled down, dispose of the ash in an
environmentally friendly way.
• Clean enamelled and chrome racks with warm water, wash-
ing-up liquid and a sponge.
• Clean stainless steel racks with warm water, washing-up liquid
and a sponge or stainless steel cleaning pad.
• Clean racks made of cast iron with a grill rack cleaning brush
and burn off the remaining residues in the barbecue. Once
the rack has cooled down, brush it off or wipe it clean with a
damp paper towel.
• After use, allow the deflector plate to cool down completely
and then clean it with a dry cloth, a damp kitchen sponge
or, for stubborn encrusted food, with a dough scraper. Do
not use abrasive cleaning agents or brushes with metal
bristles!
• If necessary, you can clean the cold charcoal grate and the
insides of the barbecue with a dry soft brush.
• You can wipe off any soiling on the outsides of the barbecue
with a damp cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents.
• Store it in a dry, weatherproof location.
DISPOSAL
Pay attention to cleanliness when handling the barbecue and
disposing of waste materials. As a general rule, you should only
dispose of waste materials in designated metal or non-flammable
containers. The local regulations on waste disposal apply.
To dispose of the barbecue, dismantle it into its individual parts
and recycle any metals and plastic.
Dispose of the packaging material in an environmentally
friendly manner so that it can be recycled.
