Protection classes according to EN 13158:2018 and BETA standard
According to EN 13158:2018 and BETA standard, specific tests are carried out to
test the performance of the body protectors on impact.
Categories of protection classes according to EN 13158:2018:
LEVEL1:
Protection class 1: Black 2018 Vests with less protection, only suitable for
jockeys. Not intended for normal riding, as they offer considerably less
protection than Level 2 safety vests.
LEVEL 2:
Protection class 2: Brown 2018 Vests with less protection than usual, only for
situations with low risk. These do not include riding on roads or other hard
surfaces.
LEVEL 3:
Protection class 3: Purple 2018 Safety vests that provide adequate protection
when riding under normal conditions,
at competitions and when working with horses. Safety vests with the
highest protection class. Suitability for other uses is not certified.
This SWING Body Protector is tested and certified for protection class 3
(see cover). It is very important that you choose the level of protection that
corresponds to your riding activities.
