HOW TO USE
1. Close all doors to the room before
opening the escape window. This is to
prevent feeding the fire with oxygen and
slow the spread of flames.
2. Open the ladder hooks and adjust them
to the correct width.

3. Place the ladder hooks over the window
sill/frame, with the ladder hanging
outside the building. Make sure that the
ladder hooks are firmly in place over the
window sill/frame.

4. Pull the release strap to let the ladder unfold.

5. Climb carefully out through the window,
backwards and feet first, and place your
feet on the rungs of the ladder. Hold the
ladder hooks firmly for extra support and
stability.
6. Climb down the ladder, keeping your body
as close to it as possible for maximum
stability. Only carry children down the
ladder if it is absolutely necessary.
7. An adult should climb down first and then
hold the ladder still while children and
elderly persons descend.
8. Climb down carefully to avoid breaking
the glass of any windows you pass.

EVACUATION PLAN
Make an evacuation plan with escape routes,
and practise evacuating the building. Decide
on at least two exits from each room (door and
window), an escape route out of the building
from each of these exits, and an assembly
point outside the building.
PRACTISE POSITIONING THE
LADDER
Practise assembling and positioning the ladder
for evacuation as illustrated in figures 2 and 3.
NOTE:
Do not pull the release strap while practising.
The escape ladder has been carefully packed
by the manufacturer to ensure that it releases
and unfolds correctly in a real emergency.
MAINTENANCE
STORAGE
• Keep the ladder near the emergency
escape window, where it can be easily and
quickly reached. Inside a wardrobe or
under a bed are suitable places.
• Do not store the ladder in direct sunlight
or at temperatures above 50°C.
