5. Wear suitable personal protective equipment, this includes:
– hearing protection to reduce the risk of induced hearing loss,
– eye protection,
– respiratory protection to reduce the risk of inhalation of harmful dust,
– gloves for handling cutting discs and rough material (cutting discs
should be carried in a holder wherever practicable).
6. Clean the work surface and the workpiece after each cut. Switch the
product off to clean it. There should be no foreign bodies on the workpiece
or the machine table. Cut tile parts can get caught in the cutting disc and
flung around.
7. Fill the water tray with clean cold water. Check the water level constantly
during use and refill if necessary. Do not overfill.
8. Before each use, check the correct mounting of the guards.
9. Keep other persons away from the work area.
10. Before use check the correct rotation of the cutting disc.
11. Avoid any contact with the rotating cutting disc.
12. Do not use cutting discs which are cracked. Damaged cutting disc must be
replaced by new ones.
13. Ensure the table and surrounding area clean with exception of the tile to be
cut.
14. Before cutting a tile let the cutting disc run freely for a few seconds. If it
makes an unfamiliar sound or vibrate excessively, switch it off immediately
and disconnect from the power supply. Investigate the cause or consult the
customer service department for advice.
15. Let the disc reach full speed before commencing the cut.
16. Let the disc come to a complete stop before removing any jammed or off
cut material from around the disc area.
17. Never allow the disc to run dry. Failure to keep the water tray topped up will
result in possible over-heating of the diamond disc and a poor cut in the tile.
18. Before cutting a tile let the cutting disc far away from workpiece. When
motor speed reach rating speed, then feed it.
Cutting discs (Superabrasives) safety warnings
1. Superabrasives are breakable and shall therefore be handled with utmost
care! The use of damaged or improperly mounted or used superabrasives
is dangerous and can cause serious injuries.
2. Superabrasives
Superabrasives shall be stored in such a manner that they are not
subjected to mechanical damages and harmful environmental influences.
3. Information on the label or the superabrasive as well as restrictions of use,
safety indications or any other instruction shall be followed. In case of
doubt concerning the selection of superabrasives, the user shall request
information from the manufacturer or supplier.
