LA 100 G-U: Flush-mounted enclosure without fire
protection
f Turn the supplied screws through the mounting bracket
into the supplied T-slot nuts.
f slide the mounting bracket onto the flush-mounted cas-
ing such that the T-slot nuts slide into the T-slot rails on
the sides of the flush-mounted casing.
f Turn the screws into the T-slot nuts until the nuts no
longer slip in the T-slot rails.
f secure the mounting bracket to the separating ceiling or
the duct wall.
LA 100 G-UB: Flush-mounted enclosure made of fire
protection material
f secure the mounting bracket to the flush-mounted enclo-
sure with the supplied screws.
f secure the mounting bracket to the separating ceiling or
the duct wall.
10.1.4 Installation without mounting bracket
f Provide horizontal support.
f Install the enclosure so that the interior plaster will be
flush with the plaster edge later on.
f screw tight the flush-mounted enclosure through the
holes at the edge.
The enclosure has two holes near the air outlet for fastening
the enclosure to the ceiling with perforated tape.
10.1.5 Extract air duct
f slide the ventilation pipe leading to the main duct onto
the air outlet of the appliance.
f wrap aluminium sealing tape around the join.
10.1.6 Fan unit
To prevent damage or contamination during transport or at the
construction site, do not remove the fan unit from the packag-
ing until immediately before installation.
f remove the plaster protection cover of the flush-mounted
enclosure.
f Check that the flush-mounted enclosure is installed
correctly.
f remove any dirt, e.g. residues of plaster or mortar.
f Isolate the power cable from the power supply.
Minimum cable cross-section: 3 x 1.5 NYM-J
Push the power cable through the "entry electrical cables"
opening and into the enclosure. The power cable must pro-
trude 30 cm into the enclosure.

f Hook the fan unit into the guide groove at the join be-
tween the flush-mounted enclosure and the air outlet.
f secure the fan unit in the enclosure with the screw
provided.

10.2 Surface-mounted appliance

To install the surface-mounted appliance, you need a dN 80-
100 extract air pipe flush with the wall.
10.2.1 Option: Fire safety
The fire protection device has a fire damper made of flame
retardant material and held by a fusible link. In the event of a
fire, the fusible link releases the fire damper. The fire damper
drops down and seals off the ventilation pipe.

f Turn the pipe connector to detach it from the fire protec-
tion device.
f seal in the fire protection device at the back.
f screw the fire protection device into the ventilation pipe
coming out of the wall.
f If an elbow is used in the wall, observe the insertion depth
of the fire protection device.
10.2.2 Installation
f seal the wall outlet opening of the extract air pipe to the
surrounding wall.
