Function description

subject to demand, the humid, odorous air is transported out
of the bathroom and wC to the outdoors or into central extract
air shafts. This creates slight negative pressure in the apart-
ment. due to this negative pressure, fresh, filtered air flows in
of its own accord through air apertures in the external walls of
living spaces and bedrooms. overflow apertures in the doors
create an air connection between the supply and extract air
areas.
whether decentralised external wall apertures in supply air
areas are necessary depends on the airtightness of the build-
ing. In some cases, natural infiltration due to the permeability
of the building envelope provides sufficient fresh air.
A qualified contractor can set the air flow rates for base load
and full load. The base load is an additional fan level during
two-stage fan operation. The base load is used, for example,
for background ventilation to meet humidity protection re-
quirements.
The appliance receives a start pulse via a switch or the option-
ally available humidity control. If the start pulse comes from a
switch, the fan starts or the air flow rate increases only after a
start delay. The run-on time begins when you send the appli-
ance a stop pulse via the switch. The qualified contractor can
set the run-on time.
If the start pulse occurs via the humidity control, there is no
start delay.
The fan does not start if you switch the appliance off again at
the switch before the start delay has elapsed.

Humidity control (accessory)
The humidity sensor functions as an additional switch that acts
on the connected ventilation unit.
The humidity sensor continually measures the humidity in the
room and calculates an average. when the current humidity
exceeds the average, the fan switches to full load.
when the humidity falls below the average, the fan switches
off (in the case of single-stage operation) or switches back to
base load (in the case of two-stage operation).
After a maximum of 30 minutes of operation, the fan switches
to pause for 15 minutes. If the humidity is still too high, the fan
starts again and continues to run for a maximum of 30 minutes.
The highest requested fan level always takes priority, irrespec-
tive of whether it is requested by the humidity sensor or the
light switch. If you press the light switch during the 15-minute
fan pause, the fan will start. when, for example, you switch off
the light after showering, but the humidity is still too high, the
fan will continue to run.
