13. Troubleshooting

The multimeter was designed using the latest technology and is safe to use.
However, problems and malfunctions may still occur.
This section tells you how to troubleshoot common issues:

Possible cause
Are the batteries empty?
Have you selected the wrong measurement
mode (AC/DC)?
Are the measuring leads plugged into the
measuring sockets correctly?
Is the hold function enabled ("HOLD")?
You measured a DC current.
Solution
Check the status. Replace the batteries.
Check the display (AC/DC) and select
another mode if necessary.
Check that the measuring leads are in the
correct position.
Press the "HOLD" button to disable this
function.
The VC-522 current clamp is only suitable
for AC currents.
