6 Calling up the Camera via a Computer

As described in the preceding chapter, the user interface of the camera can be
called up via the list in the search program or by entering its IP address in the address
line of the program Windows Internet Explorer (IE). A maximum of 10 accesses to
the camera is possible at the same time.
The computer used should meet the following minimum requirements:
Processor, memory: . . . . . . Intel Dual Core / 2.53 GHz, 1024 MB RAM
Operating system: . . . . . . . Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7 or higher
Web browser: . . . . . . . . . . Windows Internet Explorer, version 6 or higher
Graphics card: . . . . . . . . . . 128 MB memory, 32-bit colour resolution
Windows is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation in the USA and other countries.
When calling up the camera, first the log-in screen appears in which the user name
and the password have to be entered (preset for both inputs: admin). Individual log-
in data can later be defined in the camera settings. At least the password should be
changed to protect the camera against unauthorized access.
When the connection is established via the IE for the first time, the IE will download
the required extensions (ActiveX control elements) from the camera and will install
them on the computer. If necessary, the security settings of the IE must be eased
before installation so that this procedure is admitted.
When the connection to the camera has been made, the current camera image is
displayed (fig. 3) with the following operating possibilities:
a display size
b option for the audio transmission to the camera
c number of the current accesses to the camera
d DO: for manual triggering the switching output
e button to call up the settings (Setup)
f snapshot function to save a snapshot as an image (with pre-view window)
Click the camera image with the right mouse button to insert the following menu:
Snapshot – saving of a snapshot as an image
Record Start / Stop – start / stop of a video recording on the PC
Mute – muting of the camera sound
Full Screen – full-screen view (double-click to go back)
Zoom – section enlargement
FrameBuffmSec – buffer
To configure the camera, click the symbol next to e . The settings are displayed
(
fig. 4). Here, the language for the complete user interface can be changed as
well ( i ). Select the desired category for the settings via the definitions at the left
edge ( g ).
To return to the start view (camera image), click the symbol next to h .
7 Reset of the Camera
The camera can be reset to its factory settings. With the reset, all the changes the
user may have made to the camera settings will be lost.
1) Disconnect the camera from the power supply.
2) Connect the terminal "Default" of the terminal block (6) to the terminal GND
and re-establish the power supply.
3) After the starting procedure of the camera (approx. 30 s), disconnect the con-
nection.
The camera is now reset to the static IP address 192.168.1.200, the user name and
the password for the log-in is: admin
