1. Inspect the sealing paint on the spirit levels for damage.
2. Inspect the precision measuring bar for optical flaws.
3. Clean the dove tail.
4. Inspect the precision measuring bar for damage
such as dense or burrs.
Measure in case of damage
1. Check whether the damage compromises the func-
tionality of the precision measuring bar.
2. If necessary, replace the precision measuring bar.
4.1.1 Checking the L-bracket (also for EL 52425)

The L -bracket on EL 52425 corresponds to the
L -bracket of the precision measuring bar. The fol-
lowing inspection steps apply also to the L -bracket
of the EL 52425.

1. Clean the laser mounts on the L -bracket.
2. Inspect the laser mounts on the L -bracket for dama-
ge such as dents or burrs.
3. Check the arresting cable.
4. Check the height of the 4 mounting pins.

Measure in case of damage

Replace the arresting cable.
On EL 52425:

Replace the L -bracket.
On SCT 4xx / SCT 141x / CCT 3xxx:

Replace the precision measuring bar.

4.1.2 Replacing the spirit level for the roll angle on
the L-bracket (also for EL 52425)

Inspect the roll angle spirit level on the L -bracket
(Abb. 23, item 2) for damage such as broken glass or
leaking liquid.
Measure in case of damage
1. Replace the spirit level for the roll angle on the L -
bracket.
2. Fasten the test template (Abb. 23, item 4) to the
L -bracket.
3. Compare data for the new roll angle spirit level on
the L -bracket with the data for the roll angle spirit
level on the test template (Abb. 23, item 2 and item
6).

Maximum observational error of roll angle spirit
levels: +/- 6 minutes of arc
Measure in case of impermissible observational error

Send in the precision measuring bar.
4.1.3 Replacing the spirit level for the pitch angle
on the L-bracket (also for EL 52425)

Inspect the pitch angle spirit level on the L -bracket
(Abb. 23, item 3) for damage such as broken glass or
leaking liquid.
Measure in case of damage
1. Replace the spirit level for the pitch angle on the
L -bracket.
2. Fasten the test template (Abb. 23, item 4) to the
L -bracket.
3. Compare data for the new pitch angle spirit level on
the L -bracket with the data for the pitch angle spirit
level on the test template (Abb. 23, item 3 and item
5).
4. If the data differs, adjust the pitch angle spirit level
on the L -bracket by means of cup washers until the
data agree with the pitch angle spirit level on the
test template.
5. Following adjustment, use sealing wax to mark the
screws.
