|
Connect the frequency counter to the LINE OUT terminals
and apply heat-run for 20 minutes or more. Then, playback
the alignment tape in TAPE 1 and TAPE 2 and adjust the tape ©
speed at the middle of the tape.

Note:
Speed difference between TAPE 1 and TAPE 2 should
be within
1%.

When the maximum values of the two channels differ, set
the maximum
values to that of L channel. At this time,
ensure that the maximum value difference between the two
channels is within 2dB. If the difference is more than 2dB,
readjust.

The phase of both channels should be within +45°. Adjust
the phase in forward
and reverse
modes.

Note:
Be sure to stop tightening
the screws in the threading
direction
(because
they
have backlash).
After this adjustment, record a 10kHz (OdB to 10dB) signal in
TAPE 2 forward mode, playback the tape in TAPE 2 reverse
- mode,
and make azimuth adjustment. Then, playback this
tape in TAPE
1 forward
and
reverse
modes
and
make
azimuth adjustment. After this, make the same adjustments
by reversing TAPE
1 and TAPE
2.
