e. Series connection
Maximum
five stabilisers may be connected in series to obtain an
output voltage higher than 75 V. The voltage between any one of the
output terminals and earth may not exceed 375 V —
Series connection
according to ''master and slave" system is also possible (see Fig. 7g).
If this system is used, the total output voltage can be adjusted with the
voltage control of one set (the so-called "master").
The knobs marked
"U" of the other sets connected in series (the "slaves") must then be
turned fully anti-clockwise and those marked "I" fully clockwise.
If
required,
the output voltage can now be made equal to that of the
"master" by means
of knobs "U".
f. Parallel connection
Several stabilisers may be connected in parallel to obtain a higher
output current.
Parallel connection according to "master and slave" system is also
possible (see Fig. 7h).
If this system is used, the output voltage and the total output current
can be adjusted with the control knobs "U" and "I" of one set (the
"master".
Knobs "U" and "I" of the other sets connected in parallel (the "slaves")
must then be turned fully clockwise.
III.
OPERATION
(Fig. 1)
A. MAINS VOLTAGE
The apparatus is switched on and off with SK, at the bottom of the front
panel.
B. OUTPUT
VOLTAGE
The output voltage is indicated by the combined volt/ammeter,
after
the latter has been set to the correct voltage range with SK. The out-
put voltage is adjusted with the left-hand knob "U" (coarse) and with the
right-hand knob "U" (fine).
