Personnel qualification

The test device is for use in service workshops by trained and qualified personnel who have read and understood the contents of this manual.
Thanks to their technical training, knowledge and experience, qualified personnel are able to recognize possible dangers. They are familiar with all relevant and applicable regulati-
ons, standards and safety rules.

Transport and storage

Storage
The test device should be stored in an environment with minimum levels of pollutants, to avoid faults occurring during use.
When not in use for long periods of time, the test device and its components should be stored suitably packaged in a dry storage environment, free of any impurities and contami-
nation. The test device and its components must be protected from exposure to chemical substances, such as silicones, sulphur, phosphorus or other non-desorbing substances/
impurities such as tobacco smoke, oil, grease and volatile liquids, and from dust.
Transport
Wherever possible, the device should be transported or shipped in impact-protected packaging. The original packaging for transport and shipping should be used if possible.

Using the device

Notes on the operating environment
Smoking in the operating environment of the test device leads to incorrect measurements.
Never use or operate the test device in a moist environment or in water.
The operating environment, storage area and storage environment must be free of impurities and contamination.
The test device must be protected from exposure/deposits of chemical substances such as silicones, sulphur, phosphorus or other non-desorbing substances/impurities
such as tobacco smoke, oil, grease and volatile liquids, and from dust.
The air inlet and air outlet openings must be clean and must not be covered or masked with tape.
Substances containing silicones, sulphur, phosphorus, alkali ions, their compounds or other non-desorbing substances/impurities, such as tobacco smoke, oil, grease, volatile
and corrosive liquids can have a toxic effect on the sensor of the test device. The sensor can be irreversibly damaged as a result.
Spraying with vaporized liquids or gases can falsify the display values and lead to error messages. The sensor can be irreversibly damaged as a result.
Never breathe tobacco smoke onto the test device. The components in the smoke will burn onto the sensor surface and affect the sensitivity.
If the test device has not been used for a considerable period of time, or has been surrounded by polluted, dirty air for some time, adsorbates may be deposited on the
sensor. This can falsify test results.
