4. If the engine is cold, move the choke lever [C] to the closed (CHOKE)
position.
5. Move the throttle lever to FAST.
6. Set the ON/OFF switch on the handle of the machine to the ON position.
7. Set the engine ON/OFF switch [l] to ON.
8. Grasp the starter cord handle and pull slowly until it is tight. Allow the cable
to retract a little, then pull the cord sharply to start the engine. Usually one or
two strokes will start the engine.
9. Move the choke lever [C] to RUN.
10. If the machine has been started with a cold engine, warm the engine
before you begin digging. Allow the engine to run with the throttle lever in the
middle range for 3-4 minutes, then move the throttle lever to the FAST.
Make sure the machine chain does not turn when the engine is idling. Make
sure the engine is turned off or idling before moving the machine to the work
site.

Depth adjustment

Depth should be adjusted with the engine idling.
The digging depth is adjusted by setting the lever in the groove corresponding
to the desired depth.
