7. Decommissioning/disassembly

7.1 Cleaning
DO NOT USE A WIRE BRUSH OR OTHER METAL TOOLS TO CLEAN THE GUN OR THE SY-
PHON CUP, OTHERWISE THERE IS A RISK OF DAMAGE.
Do not lay the gun filled with material on its side. To clean the gun after use, always empty
all the paint from the cup back into the container. Use a cloth soaked with solvent compat-
ible to the coating material to clean the cup. Then spray some clean solvent through the
gun onto a clean cloth or into a bucket. Repeat this until only clean solvent escapes. Use
the damp cloth to clean the air cap and the tip of the material nozzle. The air cap can be
soaked in thinner. Never immerse the complete spray gun.
Never block the nozzle during rinsing – this will push the solvent and coating material into
the air duct and cause malfunctions later on.
Removing the nozzle and needle
• Never leave water or solvent in the gun. After using solvents (e.g., turpentine), rinse the
gun with a light detergent solution and rinse with water to finish.
• Remove the retaining ring and air cap.
• Actuate the trigger.
• Use the supplied assembly tool to remove the nozzle.
• After removing the nozzle, make sure that the air distributor does not drop out of the
gun.
• Use the cleaning brush and a suitable solvent to clean the material pipe.
• The air cap, nozzle, needle and air manifold may be soaked with solvent.
• To remove the needle, remove the material quantity screw (Fig. 3, item 2) and the
spring. Clean the needle after removing it.
7.2 Storage
Dry the components, the gun body and the cup with a cloth before storing. Store the cup
and the gun body separately without connecting them. Store the device unit in a dry and
frost-free place.
