3 Operating instructions (for the user)

Before use
● Make sure that no objects made of flammable materials are loca-
ted or placed in the radiation area of the fireplace (minimum dis-
tance 80 cm, measured from the viewing panes of the combusti-
on chamber door)!
● Before heating for the first time, make sure that all accessories
have been removed from the combustion chamber!
Note: The odour that may occur due to the curing of the pro-
tective coating disappears when the heater has been fired for
several hours (ventilate the room well).
Attention! Property damage! The heater is coated with a
high-quality temperature-resistant lacquer that only reaches
its final strength after the first heating up. Therefore, do not
place anything on the stove and do not touch the surfaces, as
this could damage the paintwork.

3.1 Fuels

Permitted fuels
The following fuels are permissible:
ū natural chunky wood in the form of logs
(maximum length: 33 cm; circumference: approx. 30 cm)
ū Wood briquette according to DIN EN 14691
(size class: HP 2, maximum length: 20 cm)
Logs reach a residual moisture of 10 - 15% after proper storage of
2-3 years and are then ideally suited for use in the stove.
Correct storage: The firewood should be split and stored protected
from rain in an airy pile.

Fig. 3.1
Comparison of heating value of dry wood and freshly cut wood
The diagram shows that consumption is almost twice as high for
freshly cut wood (heating value 2.3 kWh/kg) compared to dry wood
(heating value 4.3 kWh/kg).
Only with dry fuels can you achieve optimum combustion and heat
in an environmentally friendly way. By feeding the fuel in parti-
al quantities, unnecessary emissions are avoided. Clean combusti-
on can be recognised by the fact that the fireclay bricks remain light
and do not turn black.

Note! Freshly cut wood has a very high moisture content and
therefore burns very badly. In addition to its very low hea-
ting value, it also pollutes the environment. The increased
condensate and tar formation can lead to chimney and flue
sooting!
Non-approved fuels
According to 1. Federal Immission Control Act, it is prohibited to
burn the following fuels in stoves, for example:
ū Damp wood or wood treated with wood preservatives
ū Sawdust, shavings, sanding dust
ū Bark and chipboard waste
ū Coal breeze
ū Other waste
ū Paper and cardboard (except for kindling)
ū Straw
