E) Checking the range of the remote control transmitter and the control functions
ATTENTION!
Never operate the model with a malfunctioning remote control!
Remote control range
To maintain safe control of the model, you should check the function and range of the RC system before every first start and especially after a
crash. For this purpose, it is sufficient to test the function of the steering servo. If the remote control does not work properly, check the charge level
of the transmitter and receiver batteries and renew the binding between the transmitter and receiver.
•
Set the model down so that the wheels hang freely in the air. Due to the static friction of the tires on the ground, the steering would react too
•
sluggishly when the model is stationary.
•
Move approx. 50m away from the jacked-up model.
•
Perform the steering function test as described below:
1.
Put the control wheel and the corresponding trim in neutral position.
2.
Turn on the transmitter.
3.
Connect the battery to the speed controller and turn on the receiver.
4.
Turn the control wheel to the right and left. The wheels of the model must also turn to the right and left. If the wheels turn in the opposite
direction, move the reverse switch for the steering function on the transmitter to the other position.
5.
When you release the steering wheel; the wheels must turn back to the straight-ahead position.
6.
If the wheels do not stay exactly straight when the steering wheel is in the neutral position, correct the position on the trim control for the
steering function.
7.
The steering wheel end stops should effect the end stops right / left of the steering!
Control function cruise control
1.
Move the throttle/brake lever to the neutral position.
2.
The motor must not start in the neutral position of the remote control lever!
3.
If necessary, bring the motor to a standstill with the trim on the transmitter.
4.
Operate the throttle/brake lever on the remote control forward.
5.
The rotational speed of the motor should change continuously.
6.
Now move the remote control lever backwards to check the brake and reverse speed.
7.
If the wheels turn in the wrong direction, correct the running direction by reconnecting the motor cables.
