4.1 Unpacking
⇒ Remove the equipment and accessories from the package�
⇒ Check the delivery for completeness (compare with the scope of delivery)�
4.2 Installation
Before you begin installation:
A shut-off valve, e.g., a water faucet, must be installed upstream of the filter system.
⇒ Determine a suitable location for installing the filter system:
The location of the system must be frost-proof and protected against direct sunlight�
⇒ Determine the carbonate hardness and set the corresponding blend level (see Chap� 4�3 and 4�4)�
⇒ Before the filter system is put into operation, the consumer unit supplied must be free from limescale.
⇒ Check the filter system and accessories for damage before assembly. This applies in particular to the
O-rings and seals�
⇒ If stored below 0° C, the filter cartridge must be stored for at least 24 hours at ambient temperature at
the installation site before installation�
4.3 Blend level / capacity of the filter cartridge
The required blend level and the capacity of the filter cartridge depends on the carbonate hardness of the
local tap water�
Use the test strips provided for determining the carbonate hardness�
4.3.1 Using the test strips
⇒ Briefly immerse the test strips (1 sec.).
⇒ Gently shake off excess liquid from the test strip.
⇒ Read the result after 1 minute:
♦ 4 green
♦ 1 red
♦ 2 red
♦ 3 red
♦ 4 red
4.3.2 Setting the blend level
The blend valve in the filter head of the system enables precise adjustment
of the carbonate hardness in the filtered water. As a result, the required
blend level for the POWER steamer 2 can be set individually and the per-
formance of the filter cartridges can be optimally utilized.
To set the blend level, proceed as follows:
⇒ From the table, take the blend level value that corresponds to the carbon-
ate hardness that has been determined�
⇒ Press the key (9) for blending adjustment and turn the blending adjust-
ment dial to the corresponding level�
⇒ Remove the blending adjustment key after setting has been completed
and store the key in a safe place for possible future adjustments to the
settings�
