Preparations for use

1. Ensure that the rechargeable battery is charged.
2. Turn on the device by pressing the
 An air blank is carried out.
An air blank is a test to see whether alcohol can be detected in
the ambient air, which could distort test results.
3. If no alcohol is detected, wait until the device displays that it is
ready to measure (see fold-out page, Figure B: 1).
4.4.1 Before sampling
● The subject must be breathing calmly and steadily.
● The subject should be able to provide the minimum volume of
breath (>1.2 L) required for sampling.
