Assembly
Pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning or per-
u
forming maintenance on the vacuum cleaner, making
tool adjustments, changing accessories or putting
away the vacuum cleaner. This safety measure prevents
the vacuum cleaner from being started accidentally.
Fitting the Vacuum Hose (see figure A)
– Attach the vacuum hose (10) to the hose adapter (7) and
turn it clockwise as far as it will go.
Note: The friction generated by the dust in the vacuum hose
and accessory during extraction causes an electrostatic
charge that the user may experience as static discharge (de-
pending on environmental factors and their physiological
state).
Bosch generally recommends using an anti-static vacuum
hose (accessory) to vacuum up fine dust and dry materials.
Fitting the Extraction Accessories
The vacuum hose (10) is equipped with a clip system which
can be used to connect vacuuming accessories (dust extrac-
tion adapter (12), curved nozzle (11)).
Fitting the Dust Extraction Adapter or Curved Nozzle
(see figure B)
Fit the dust extraction adapter (12) or the curved
nozzle (11) to the vacuum hose (10) until the two snap
fasteners (15) on the vacuum hose audibly click into place.
To remove the adapter, press the snap fasteners (15) in-
wards and pull apart the components.
Fitting the Nozzles
Then attach the required extraction accessory (floor nozzle,
crevice nozzle, etc.) firmly to the curved nozzle (11) or the
dust extraction adapter (12).

In order to extract fine dust that accumulates when working

with sanders, drills or fine saw blades, you should insert a
kg

dust bag (accessory). This makes the dust easier to dispose
of.
/I
You can extract chips that accumulate when working with
larger saws and coarser dust without an inserted dust bag.
However, you should clean the textile filter (21) occasionally
(see "Cleaning the Filter Unit", page 9).
Changing/Inserting the Dust Bag (accessory)
Minimum
Press the release button (8) and remove the dust
power
container (9) from the dust extractor.
100 W
Hold the lid (17) at the connection flange (16) and remove
100 W
the dust container lid.
Turn the cover (17) round.
Put the dust bag (18) over the dust extractor's connection
flange (16) and turn the box flaps under the dust bag
holder (19).
Press the lid (17) back onto the dust container (9) and then
push the dust container back into the dust extractor until it
audibly engages.
To remove a full dust bag (18), unscrew it – without turning
the cover(17) around – in a downward direction from the
connection flange (16).
Operation
Pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning or per-
u
forming maintenance on the vacuum cleaner, making
tool adjustments, changing accessories or putting
away the vacuum cleaner. This safety measure prevents
the vacuum cleaner from being started accidentally.

Starting Operation

Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the
u
power source must correspond with the information on
the type plate of the dust extractor. Dust extractors
marked with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Do not use damaged filters (e.g. no cracks, small
u
holes, etc.). Replace any damaged filters immedi-
ately.
To ensure optimum suction power, you must always fully un-
wind the vacuum hose (10) from the top part of the dust ex-
tractor .
Extracting Dust Deposits
– To switch on the dust extractor, set the
mode selector switch (2) to the "extraction"
symbol.
– To switch off the dust extractor, set the
mode selector switch (2) to the "switch off"
symbol.
