Connecting The Power Supply Unit; Adding Ionising Nozzles To An Existing High-Voltage Cable - ATW SIMCO-ION HE Bedienungsanleitung

- Mount the nozzles right in front of the location where static discharge causes problems.
Where the material is neutralised, free air space is a must.
- The nozzle can be mounted in any position.
- Please ensure that the airflow touches the material to be discharged as much as possible.
- Mount the nozzles with the supplied mounting screws or with your own mounting hardware
at a distance of 50 - 250 mm of the material to be discharged.
- Mount the nozzles perpendicular to or at an angle of approximately 45° in the opposite
direction of the material.

5.3 Connecting the power supply unit

− Mount the high-voltage cable alongside the machine frame with the included mounting
clamps.
− Connect the high-voltage cable to the power supply unit.
Please refer to the manual of the power supply unit.
Please make sure to use the correct output voltage for the power supply unit

5.4 Adding ionising nozzles to an existing high-voltage cable

Additional Cable End (CE) nozzles can be mounted onto an existing high-voltage cable of a
Dead End (DE) ionising nozzle. Here, the connection with the high-voltage cable is made by a
needle that pricks into the existing high-voltage cable in order to make contact. Additional
nozzles can be pre-mounted onto the high-voltage cable by Simco-ION.
No additional nozzles can be mounted onto a shielded cable.
Warning:
- Electrical installation and repairs must be carried out by a skilled electrical engineer
according to the applicable national and local regulations.
- Disconnect the power supply before carrying out work on the unit.
- A readily mounted ionising nozzle must never be removed. The high-voltage cable is
pricked at the mounting location, which is why it is no longer safe during use.
- Please ensure that there is enough free cable length available from the DE nozzle in order to
fit CE nozzles.
- First mount the DE nozzle with the cable and the housings of the CE nozzles in the desired
position. Please ensure that the cable trays in the housings are as lined up with the cable as
possible so the cable can be placed in the trays easily.
- Place the high-voltage cable in the tray of the housing and immediately press the interior onto
the housing. The needle then pricks into the high-voltage cable in order to make contact with
the cable core.
- Place the top of the CE nozzle on the housing and press until the mechanism clicks. Please
make sure that the top properly fits on the housing.
- Check if all the nozzles are mounted correctly and that the cable is undamaged.
