The Aerostat XC is designed for use with sensitive electronic components where electrostatic
discharge (ESD) can cause a problem. The XC can be used during inspection, testing and in
assembly environments. The XC can also be used where static electricity causes problems
such as attracting dirt to the product, misalignment of small parts due to electrostatic "jumping",
and the undesirable adhesion of plastic films due to electrostatic charge.

2. Description and operation

The XC produces a wide, electrically charged airflow rich in positive and negative ions. By
directing this airflow towards an electrostatically charged surface, an exchange of ions takes
place until the surface becomes neutral. The air speed of the XC is adjustable in 3 positions. In
order to clean the ionization points a cleaning brush is built-in. A built-in heating element can
heat the discharged air so that the discharge of electrostatically charged objects in the
workplace takes place in a pleasant way. An indicator light displays if the XC is producing
ionized air.
