PREPARATION AND INITIAL
OPERATION
SEASONING
The Grill Insert is factory-applied with a food-
grade paraffin oil to prevent corrosion. Your
Grill Insert must be seasoned before you
can use it.
1. Apply a heat-resistant oil, such as linseed
oil, rapeseed oil or pumpkin seed oil, to
the grill insert so that it forms a film.
Spread the oil over the entire surface,
e.g. with a brush. Place the Grill Insert in
your Pyron Plate while it is in operation.
Wait until the oil stops smoking.
2. After some time, the Grill Insert will dar-
ken in places or over a large area and the
typical patina will form.
3. Remove the Grill Insert from the Pyron
Plate and allow it to cool down slowly.
Rinse the Grill Insert with warm water and
carefully remove any residue. Finally, dry
the insert well and oil it again. Use one
of the oils mentioned above.
4. Then carry out the seasoning process
twice more: Coat the Grill Insert with oil,
wait until the oil stops smoking, let the
insert cool down, wash it with water and
carefully remove any residue.
5. The Grill Insert for the Feuerhand Pyron
Plate is now ready for use. After each use,
simply rinse the insert with hot water or
wipe it with a paper towel. For corrosion
protection, there should always be a thin
layer of oil/grease. The seasoning process
can be repeated as often as necessary.
Please note that the Grill Insert is not suitable
for preparing acidic foods such as tomatoes,
