● Keep other people, especially children, and pets at least
75 m away from the work area.
● Only operate the product in daylight.
● Always use personal protective equipment. Refer to "2.11
Personal protective equipment" on page 45.
● Stand at minimum 10 m from power lines.
● Do not use the product from a ladder, tree or other
unstable place. This could cause you to lose your balance
or lose control of the product.
● Be careful when you move rearward; do not slip or fall.
● Branches under tension can spring away when they are
cut and cause personal injury and/or cause you to lose
control of the product.
● Be careful when you saw bushes. The thin stems can get
stuck in the chain and hit you or cause you to lose your
balance.
● Remove branches and logs from the work area to reduce
the risk of personal injury.
● Do not run with the product. Make sure to stay at a safe
distance when a cut branch starts to fall.
● Stop the product before you move it. Carry the product
with the front handle and make sure that the bar points
away from your body. The supplied blade guard must
always be fitted during transport and storage, to protect
the bar and avoid the risk of personal injury.
● Keep the handles clean, dry and free from oil and grease.
Greasy handles make it difficult to hold the product - risk
of personal injury and/or material damage.
● Only use the product to saw wood. Use the product only
for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to saw plastic,
bricks or building materials that are not made of wood.
Incorrect use can result in a risk of serious personal
injury.
2.11 Personal protective equipment
Warning! If you do not obey these instructions, there
is a risk of death or injury.
● Always use ear protection. Long use without ear
protection can result in risk of hearing impairment.
● Always wear safety glasses.
● Always wear heavy-duty shoes, safety gloves and long
trousers.

2.12 Safety devices
Warning! If you do not obey these instructions, there
is a risk of death or injury.
2.12.1 Kickback guard/chain brake
The product has a chain brake that triggers and stops the
chain if a kickback occurs or if the chain breaks.
The chain brake is applied automatically when the kickback
handle comes into contact with the left hand of the user.
Always hold the product firmly with 2 hands according to
the instructions.
2.12.2 To apply the chain brake manually
● Press the kickback handle forward, towards the bar
(Figure 2)
2.12.3 To release the chain brake
● Pull the kickback handle rearward, towards the front
handle.
2.12.4 To do a check of the chain brake

Put the product on a level surface.

Release the chain brake. Refer to "2.12.3 To release
the chain brake" on page 45 .

Hold the product tight with the 2 hands.

Start the product. Refer to "4.2 To start the product"
on page 47 .

Keep your hand on the front handle and press the
kickback handle forward with your wrist. Make sure
that the chain stops immediately.
2.13 Battery safety
Warning! If you do not obey these instructions, there
is a risk of death or injury.
● The product produces an electromagnetic field when in
use. This field can in some circumstances affect active or
passive medical implants. If you have a medical implant
you should consult your doctor and/or the manufacturer
of the medical implant before using the product to reduce
the risk of serious or fatal personal injury.
● The battery can emit fumes when used incorrectly or if
damaged. Such fumes can irritate the respiratory system.
Breathe in fresh air. Speak to a doctor if the complaint
persists .
