BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS
COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THE PROPER
FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.
INTENDED USER PROFILE:
The intended user should be a licensed medical professional or the patient's caregiver. The user
should be able to read, understand and be physically capable of performing all the directions,
warnings and cautions provided in the information for use.
INTENDED USE/INDICATIONS: The Procare Vest-Style Body Holder is designed to provide
positional support to help the patient maintain a particular posture or position to perform a
specific function (i.e. sitting up to eat). It may be suitable for use in a bed, wheelchair or geriatric
chair.
Providing temporary restraint of a limb or body segment for positional support.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: If you have skin disorders/injuries in the relevant part of the body, the
product should be fitted and worn only after consultation with a medical professional.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
• This product is to be prescribed and fitted by a physician.

• Failure to follow the instructions for use may result in serious injury.
If you experience any pain, swelling, changes in sensation or other unusual reactions occur

while using this product, you should contact your medical professional immediately.
Do not use over open wounds

• Always inspect product prior to application to ensure all parts are in proper working order.
• Do not use this device if it was damaged and/or package has been opened.
• Discontinue use when torn, worn, frayed or damaged.
• Do not use on combative patients.
• When a patient is in a restrictive product in bed or on a stretcher or gurney, all side rails
MUST be in the UP position. All straps must be checked routinely to ensure they are secure.
All straps must be secured short enough so the patient cannot become entangled. Always
monitor patient when using a restraining device. Tighten straps without restricting patient's
circulation.
NOTE: Contact manufacturer and competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due
to usage of this device.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:
1. Place body holder on patient with opening in front. (Fig. 1)
2. Interlock panels by threading left strap through opening on right side. (Fig. 2)
3. Extend straps and secure in desired location on frame of the bed.
Do not attach to the side rails. (Fig. 3)
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS: Warm Water Maximum Temperature of 104°F/40°C. Do Not
Bleach. Air Dry Lowest Setting – Do Not Exceed 120°F/50°C.
ATTENTION: Wash only according to washing instructions. Incorrect laundry care can reduce

product integrity and shorten product life. Carefully inspect product after each washing to
ensure product integrity. Discard garment if it appears worn or frayed.
WARRANTY: DJO, LLC will repair or replace all or part of the unit and its accessories for
material or workmanship defects for a period of six months from the date of sale.

NOTE: The height and weight ranges are general guidelines for selecting the proper size of

Body Holders. However, individual physical characteristics should be taken into consideration
when determining the appropriate size. Do not use this product unless the sleeves fit properly.
Sleeves should not be too tight or too loose.
1. Read insert before use. Follow manufacturer's instructions, hospital protocol for restraints
and state or federal laws.
2. Follow physician's orders for appropriateness, duration of application and frequency of use.
3. Check restrained patients frequently according to hospital protocol and state or federal
laws. Patients may become restless or agitated if left unattended for too long.
4. Train all staff on the proper application of patient restraints.
5. Do not apply backwards. The interlocking panels should be in front.
6. Do not attach to side rails. If bed is adjustable, attach ties to movable part of bed frame.
7. Do not alter Body Holders in any way or transfer products from one facility to another.
8. Do not expose to open flame.
9. Do not use any type of pillow or back cushion that may become dislodged. Make sure that
proper body alignment is maintained.

PERFIL DEL USUARIO PREVISTO:

USO PREVISTO/INDICACIONES: El sostén para el cuerpo Procare tipo chaleco está diseñado para que
el paciente mantenga una postura o posición particular para realizar una función específica (por ejemplo,
sentarse para comer). Puede ser utilizado en una cama, una silla de ruedas o una silla geriátrica.

ADVERTENCIAS Y PRECAUCIONES:

• Si sufre algún dolor, inflamación, cambios de sensibilidad o cualquier otra reacción poco frecuente al
utilizar este producto, póngase en contacto con su médico inmediatamente.
• No debe aplicarse sobre heridas abiertas.
• Compruebe siempre el buen funcionamiento de todos los componentes antes de aplicar este
producto.
• No utilice este dispositivo si está dañado o si el envase está abierto.
• Interrumpa el uso de este dispositivo si presenta algún tipo de desgarro, desgaste, deshilachado o
daño.
• No lo utilice en pacientes violentos.
• Cuando un paciente está sujeto en una cama, una camilla manual o una camilla con ruedas, todas
las barandillas laterales DEBEN estar SUBIDAS. Compruebe sistemáticamente que todas las correas
estén bien sujetas. Todas las correas deben sujetarse suficientemente cortas para evitar que el
paciente se enrede. Vigile al paciente siempre que utilice un dispositivo de restricción. Apriete las
correas sin restringir la circulación del paciente.
NOTA: Comuníquese con el fabricante y la autoridad competente en caso de un incidente grave que
surja debido al uso de este dispositivo.
INSTRUCCIONES DE COLOCACIÓN:
1. Ponga la sujeción corporal sobre el paciente de forma que la abertura quede por delante. (Fig. 1)
2. Una los paneles, pasando la correa izquierda por la abertura de la derecha. (Fig. 2)
3. Extienda las correas y fíjelas al lugar deseado del armazón de la cama.
No amarre a las barandillas laterales. (Fig. 3)
INSTRUCCIONES DE LAVADO: Agua caliente a una temperatura máxima de 104 °F/40 °C. Secador de
aire al mínimo nivel de potencia - No sobrepasar los 120 °F/50 °C.
ATENCIÓN: Lave solamente de acuerdo con las instrucciones de lavado. Un procedimiento de lavado
incorrecto puede perjudicar la integridad del producto y reducir su vida útil. Revise detenidamente el
producto después de cada lavado para verificar su integridad. Deseche la prenda si está desgastada o
deshilachada.
GARANTÍA: DJO, LLC reparará o sustituirá toda o parte de la unidad y sus accesorios por defectos de
material o mano de obra durante los seis meses siguientes a la fecha de venta.

desatendidos demasiado tiempo.
4. Capacite a todo el personal en la aplicación adecuada de dispositivos de sujeción para pacientes.
5. No utilice al revés. Los paneles de unión deben quedar delante.
6. No amarre a las barandillas laterales. Si la cama es ajustable, ate los amarres a la parte móvil del
armazón de la cama.
7. No altere en forma alguna las sujeciones corporales ni lleve los productos de un edificio a otro.
8. No lo exponga al contacto con llamas vivas.
9. No use ningún tipo de almohada o cojín para la espalda que pueda salirse de su lugar. Asegúrese de
mantener el cuerpo correctamente alineado.
