System restore

Requirement
The device must have the factory settings before a Restore package is installed. This means:
All network cables have been pulled from the device.
The partitioning of the available drives in the device must mirror the factory state.
The logical names of the system partitions must be "Boot", "System", "WinRE" and "Data...", as in the delivery condition.
NOTICE
Risk of data loss
Depending on the selected restore mode, the C: system partition or the existing drive is deleted. When deleting the
entire drive, all data, user settings and existing authorizations are lost!
Make a regular backup of the contents of the C: system partition or the drives regularly and especially before the
system recovery.
Do not change the size of the system partition. The size of the system partition must be the same as in the factory
settings, i.e. 128 GB.
Procedure
1. Insert the Restore USB stick into a free USB port of your IPC. Start the device.
You can find information on the Restore USB flash drive in the section "Scope of delivery of the software (Page 16)".
2. When the BIOS message to select the boot manager appears, press the <ESC> key and select the "Boot Manager" options.
After initialization has completed, a "Boot menu" is displayed.
3. In the Boot menu, use the cursor keys to select the (UEFI) restore USB stick.
4. After the info box has been confirmed, select your preferred language ("English" or "German") in the "Restore" menu.
5. Select one of the following options in the next menu:
"Restore factory settings"
Existing drives are deleted. The factory settings are restored. All data, user settings and authorizations are lost in the
process.
"Restore partition layout"
Only the partition layout is restored; no image is restored. All data, user settings and authorizations are lost in the
process.
If the drives are partitioned in the factory state of the computer, the following additional functions are available:
"Restore system partition (Windows only)"
Only the C: system partition is deleted and restored with the "A1 image". All user settings and authorizations are lost in
the process.
"Restore system partition (with PCS 7 installation)"
Only the C: system partition is deleted and restored with the "A2 image". All user settings and authorizations are lost in
the process.
"Reset drive(s)"
All existing drives are completely reset. All data, user settings and authorizations are lost in the process.
6. Continue the restore process and follow the instructions in the dialogs.
On completion of the automatic restart of the PC, the system is initialized.
7. Make additional settings in the corresponding dialogs. Read also the information on this in the section "Initial commissioning
and system restore (Page 17)".
NOTICE
Warning: overwritten data
For your PC, the Restore images are temporarily stored on the data partition of the system drive in the folder "Images".
Do not create a folder named "Images" on the data partition.
Do not store your own data in the "Images" folder on the data partition.
Make sure that there is enough free storage space (30 GB) on the data partition if you are restoring.
A message appears indicating that the system restore is complete.
The system is then restarted automatically.
