The holder for weights can accommodate a weights in
5 pockets holding max. 2 kg each.
1. Open the cover flaps (1) and unfasten the elastic strap (2).
2. Fill pockets (3) with weights as required (max. 2 kg each).
3. Distribute the weights into the various pockets as much as
possible in order to prevent unnecessary bulk.
4. Tighten the elastic band (2) again and close the cover flaps
(1).
3.1.2

Attach transport plate with MOLLE system

Instead of the weight pocket, a transport plate can be attached
to the back of the RBD 5000. The MOLLE system can be used
to carry additional accessories.
3.1.3

Mounting the safety yoke

The RBD 5000 has two release handles, one on both the right
and left side of the side flotation device.
These release handles can be differentiated from one another
with different padding types:
Dräger RBD 5000
The right release handle (hard padding) is used to release
the CO
cartridges for inflating the flotation device for
2
rescue.
The left release handle (soft padding) is used to release the
weight pocket or the transport plate.
Both release handles can be secured against accidental
activation.
1. Attach the release handle to the back of the side flotation
device with hook-and-loop strap and thread the core of the
release lock through the eyelets.
2. Secure the strap handle of the safety catch on the hook-
and-loop strap on the protective cover of the side flotation
device.
3. Do the same with the other release handle.
WARNING
!
The locking mechanisms are intended to prevent the
unintentional release of the personal flotation device or
the loss of the weights due to becoming caught, e.g.
during operations in locks. Once the risk of accidental
release no longer exists, the release safeguards
should be removed!

breathing gas supply cylinder for the mixed gas supply of the
LAR V Advanced rebreather. This can be attached to the
MOLLE system of the RBD 5000 crosswise underneath the
weight package or on the transport plate.
CAUTION
