a) Checking the battery level
1. To check the level of the internal battery, shortly press multifunction button
The battery level indicator LEDs and multifunction LED (7 & 8) indicate the remaining
battery capacity.
2. The battery level indicator switches off after approximately 15 seconds.
One LED is on
Remaining capacity about 20 %
Two LEDs are on
Remaining capacity about 40 %
Three LEDs are on
Remaining capacity about 60 %
Four LEDs are on
Remaining capacity about 80 %
Five LEDs are on
Remaining capacity about 100 %
b) Charging the internal battery using solar energy
The solar charger's internal battery can be charged with solar energy via the integrated
solar cell or via a suitable USB power source. If no USB power source is available,
charge the internal battery via the solar cell. Place the solar charger and its solar cell
in direct sunlight to ensure that the battery charges quickly. Artificial light may also be
used, but it is much less efficient than sunlight.
1. Charge the internal battery when the battery level falls below 20 %.
2. To charge the solar charger, place the solar cell facing upwards towards the sunlight or
another adequately bright source of light. Do not let the product get wet, e.g. due to rain.
3. When the green multifunction LED (8) flashes, this indicates that the internal battery is
being charged by the solar cell.
4. To check the level of the internal battery when it is charging, press and hold the
multifunction button
(9) for about one second.
5. The battery level indicator switches off approximately 15 seconds. The green multifunction
LED will turn on again when the solar cell generates power and the battery is charging.
Do not use the solar charger in enclosed spaces, e.g. in unventilated vehicles. Do not
expose the charger to temperatures of over 45 °C when it is charging.
c) Charging the internal battery via USB
If no USB power source is available, charge the internal battery via the solar cell. The
battery is only designed to be charged via the solar cell when no USB power source is
available. Avoid exposing the solar charger to direct sunlight for more than 12 hours.
1. Charge the internal battery when a battery level of below 20 % is indicated.
2. Connect the micro USB connector to the micro USB port (6) on the solar charger.
3. The multifunction LED (8) and the four battery level indicators (7) indicate the current
battery level of the internal battery as a percentage (%) (refer to "Checking the battery
level"). The flashing LEDs indicate the percentage that remains to be charged.
4. All LEDs will stay constant when the internal battery is fully charged.
5. Remove the product from the USB power source when the LEDs indicate that the battery is
fully charged (100%). The internal battery is now ready for use.
d) Charging a mobile device
The solar charger features a protective circuit that protects the battery by automatically
turning off the charger before the battery completely discharges. After the charger is
turned off, it takes approximately 3 minutes before the battery starts to charge again via
solar power (provided that there is sufficient light).
1. Connect the appropriate USB connector on the USB cable to your mobile device.
2. Connect the USB-A connector on the USB cable to a USB output port (2 or 5) on the solar
charger.
3. Charging begins when the internal battery delivers a current. The battery level indicators
on the solar charger indicate the battery level of the charger's internal battery (refer to
"Checking the battery level").
4. To terminate/interrupt the charging, disconnect the USB cable from solar charger and
mobile device. The multifunction LED (8) and the battery level indicators (7) will turn off.
5. The charger's battery must be fully charged in order to charge two mobile devices at the
same time. Use an additional USB cable (not included) to connect the other device to the
second USB output port on the solar charger.
6. Monitor the charging process. The charging device switches to trickle charging when
charging is complete.
7. When charging is complete, disconnect the USB cable from the charger.
The solar charger can be used to charge a mobile device at the same time as the
internal battery is charging with solar power from the solar cell. However, if the charging
current is delivered via USB, charging the internal battery at the same time as charging
a mobile device is possible.

2. Press the multifunction button
f) Short circuit and overload protection
The solar charger turns off automatically in the event of a short circuit or overload. Remove
the connected device and reset the solar charger by recharging it. Press the multifunction
button
g) Carrying handle
• The solar charger can be easily carried using the carrying handle.
• The charger also features a carabiner on the carrying handle (11) so that you can hang it in
