11. Maintenance

WARNING
For safety reasons, the power plug must be removed from the socket before any maintenance
work is carried out!
11.1.

Maintenance intervals

Action
General visual inspection of the pottery wheel for damage and defects.
Visual inspection of the control keys for damage and defects.
Visual inspection of the power cord and the foot pedal for damage and
defects.
Check the wheel head for a tight screw connection.
Check the wheel head for damage and defects.
Check the splash pan for damage and defects.
Check the plastic machine feet for damage and defects.
Check the drain and the stopper in the splash pan for blockages.
Visual inspection of the wooden surfaces for damage, especially due to
clay and water.
Visual inspection of optional wooden throwing batts for damage and
defects, especially due to clay and water.
Check the optional drive screws for the wooden throwing batts for tight
screw connections.
Visual inspection of the seat (if available), in particular, that the seat, gas
pressure spring and seat base are firmly connected.
Visual inspection of the shelf (if fitted), in particular, checking that it is
securely screwed to the machine.
Clean the machine, especially removing clay and water from the splash
pan.
Clean the foot pedal.
Clean wooden surfaces.
Maintenance by customer service.
11.2.

Drive

After long periods of inactivity or at low ambient temperatures it can happen that the pottery wheel "knocks". I.e., the
long period of inactivity has caused the drive belt to become "moulded onto the drive wheels and go stiff".
Let the pottery wheel turn empty for approx. 20 minutes, then the "knocking" will disappear.

11.3.

Customer service

NOTE
The pottery wheel should be checked and serviced once a year by customer service.
 Regular maintenance by customer service is strongly recommended.
 There is also the option of a maintenance contract.
