Functions of the crown

Normal position
Normal position
In position 0 – the normal position – the Heritage
Dual Time can be wound by hand using the
crown. To wind your watch, the crown must be
turned clockwise to tighten the winding spring.
The watch is automatically wound by the rotor,
which works with the movement of your wrist
during wear. However, this feature is dependent
on how long the watch is worn and can vary de-
pending on the extent of your arm movements.
Setting a second time zone
When at home, the additional hour hand is
concealed by the main hour hand; although it
cannot be seen, it moves with the main hour
hand. When travelling to other time zones, pull
the crown into position 1; this enables you to
adjust the additional hour hand in increments of
one hour by turning the crown. Turn the additio-
nal hour hand a number of times equal to the
number of time zones through which you will
travel – the watch will then display both the
local time and the time in your home region.
When adjusting the local time past midnight, the
date will automatically be adjusted in the corre-
sponding direction, thereby displaying the date
at your destination. When the correct additional
time zone appears, push the crown back to the
normal position. The watch does not stop during
this adjustment. All the hands continue to move
and the watch continues to display the time in
your home region as normal.

The date setting position
In position 1, the crown can also be used to
adjust the date. If the additional hour hand is
adjusted forwards from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., the
date is simultaneously automatically increased
by one day. Likewise, if the additional hour hand
is adjusted backwards from 2 a.m. to 11 p.m., the
date is automatically decreased by one day.
When the correct date appears, push the crown
back to the normal position. The watch does not
stop during this adjustment. All the hands
continue to move and the watch continues to
display the time in your home region as normal.
The time setting position
In position 2, the crown can be used to adjust
the time in your home region. To reach this posi-
tion, pull the crown out from the normal position
twice. This will stop the movement too, enabling
you to set your watch to the nearest second.
When the crown is engaged in position 2, you
can set the minute hand by turning the crown in
either direction. This will simultaneously move
the hour hand, which is linked to the minute
hand. To restart the movement, push the crown
back in fully, into position 0.
Reading the time in the dark
The hour hand, additional hour hand and minute
hand on your watch are equipped with illumina-
ted elements that enable you to easily read the
time, even in total darkness.
