Switching On and Off
Adjust the depth-of-cut before switching on or
off; see Section "Adjusting the Depth-of-cut".
To start the machine, tilt the On/Off switch 5 to-
ward the right to the "I" position.
To switch off the machine, tilt the On/Off
switch 5 toward the left to the "0" position.
Constant Electronic Control
Constant electronic control holds the speed
constant at no-load and under load, and ensures
uniform working performance.
Soft Starting
The electronic soft starting feature limits the
torque upon switching on and increases the
working life of the motor.

Adjusting the Depth-of-cut

The adjustment of the depth-of-cut may on-
ly be carried out when the router is
switched off.
Adjusting the Depth-of-cut on the Plunge Base
(see figure G)
For coarse adjustment of the depth-of-cut, pro-
ceed as follows:
– Place the machine with the router bit mount-
ed on the workpiece to be machined.
– Set the fine-adjustment path to the centre
position with the sleeve 10.
– Set the step buffer 13 to the lowest position;
the step buffer engages noticeably.
– Loosen the wing bolt for the depth stop 9 so
that the depth stop 7 can be moved freely.
– Push the release lever for the plunge base 21
downward and slowly lower the multifunc-
tion router until the router bit 18 touches the
workpiece surface. Let go of the release lever
21 again in order to lock the plunging depth.
– Push the depth stop 7 downward until it
rests on the step buffer 13. Set the slide with
the index mark 8 to the "0" position on the
scale for the depth-of-cut adjustment 6.
1 609 929 R32 | (6.3.08)
– Set the depth stop 7 to the required depth-
of-cut and tighten the wing bolt for the depth
stop 9. Pay attention not to misadjust the
slide with the index mark 8 again.
– Push the release lever for the plunge base 21
and guide the multifunction router to the up-
per position.
For deep cuts, it is recommended to carry out
several cuts, each with little material removal.
By using the step buffer 13, the cutting process
can be divided into several steps. For this, ad-
just the required depth-of-cut to the lowest step
on the step buffer, and use the higher steps for
the first cutting phases. The steps progress by
increments of approx. 3.2 mm.
After a test run, the depth-of-cut can be set to
the required dimension by turning the sleeve 10;
turning in anticlockwise direction increases the
depth-of-cut; turning in clockwise direction de-
creases the depth-of-cut. The mark on the depth
stop 7 can be used for guidance. One revolution
corresponds with a depth-of-cut travel of
0.8 mm. Any of the four graduation marks on the
upper edge of the sleeve 10 changes the depth-
of-cut travel by 0.2 mm.
Example: The required depth-of-cut shall be
10.0 mm; the test cut resulted to a depth-of-cut
of 9.6 mm.
– Push the release lever for the plunge base 21
and guide the multifunction router to the up-
per position.
– Rotate the sleeve 10 by 0.4 mm/2 graduation
marks (equals the difference from the set val-
ue to the actual value) in anticlockwise direc-
tion.
– Check the selected depth-of-cut by carrying
out another trial cut.
