What to do if ...
If a fault does occur, it is often due to something very minor. Using the following instructions, check whether you can rectify the fault
yourself. This will save you having to call in customer service unnecessarily.
Faults
Heater does not switch
on.
Heating switches off.
Knocking noises
Reduced
hot water flow
Poor flow.
High temperatures are
not reached.
Temperatures above
45 °C cannot be set on
the dial.
Noises from the
fuse box.
If a malfunction cannot be eliminated with the above information disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply (unscrew the fuses
or trip the circuit breaker) and inform customer service.

to the user.
Cause
Power failure
Supply temperature too high
(27 kW appliance only).
Insufficient flow.
Heater is disabled due to excessive temperature or
unusual electrical malfunctions.
Flow too powerful (only possible when the flow limiter
has been removed)
Quick shutoff of flow.
Poor flow.
Pressure in water pipe is too low.
If de-luxe fittings such as single-grip mixer taps or
thermostat taps are used, the instant water heater
must be set at a higher temperature than the
temperature required at the tap connection.
Flow is too high.
Low cold-water supply temperature in winter
Line voltage was interrupted, the new operating
parameters are determined electronically
Temperature limiter is installed.
Wrong load shedding relay
Relay not connected to phase L2
Remedy
Reenergize the house installation circuit breaker.
Open the hot water tap until the supply temperature
drops below 25 °C.
Open up hot water tap slightly further or set the instant
water heater at a slightly lower temperature and mix in
less cold water at the water tap.
Close the tap and open again after approx.
10 seconds.
Close the warm water tap slightly.
Turn the tap off slowly.
Clean/descale spray heads or jet regulators.
Clean filter in the case of thermostat taps (follow
manufacturer's instructions).
Have the flow limiter in the instant water heater
removed professionally
Set the instant water heater at a high temperature and
mix in cold water at the water tap.
Set the temperature selector on the instant water
heater to maximum.
Close the hot water tap slightly.
Turn off the hot-water tap slightly.
Operate the system at a constant flow for
approximately 2 minutes
Remove the temperature limiter. See Page 21.
