4 First steps
Four simple steps are required to initially start up and configure the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD. Besides the mvBlueCOUGAR-
XD, the following is required:
•
Latest mvGenTL_Acquire setup package from MATRIX VISION or other GigE Vision compliant software
•
12 to 24 V power supply
•
LAN cable
When using I/Os:
•
Power I/O cable

Step 1: Installing the latest mvBlueCOUGAR-XD driver
Download the latest driver from the product download section and execute the setup program for 32 bit (x86) or 64 bit
(x86_64) systems (Windows or Linux).
Beside the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD driver, four additional tools will be installed:
•
wxPropView - an interactive GUI tool to acquire images, to configure the device and to display and modify the
mvBlueCOUGAR-XD properties
•
mvDeviceConfigure - an interactive GUI tool to configure the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD.
It is possible e.g.
o
to check, if the camera is accessible and
o
to update firmware.
•
mvGigEConfigure - an interactive GUI tool to install the GigE capture filter which adds a service to your Gigabit
Ethernet interface
•
mvIPConfigure - an interactive GUI tool to configure the network behavior of the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD
It is possible e.g.
o
to assign a user defined name,
o
to change the IP address behavior, and
o
to find and fix misconfigured (e.g. wrong IP address) mvBlueCOUGAR-XD.
The user can select, if the device should
o
use a persistent IP address or
o
use DHCP to obtain an IP address.
