Intended use
This product is designed to provide a visual representation of electrical quantities and signals. One input
channel is available for taking measurements. The measuring leads are connected to the oscilloscope
(x and y component) via two BNC sockets. Measurements are displayed on a 9.4 cm (3.7") colour LCD with
320 x 240 pixel resolution. The maximum input quantities indicated on the device must never be exceeded.
These safety instructions are primarily intended to explain safety measures in order to make working with
the device as safe as possible. The individual functions of the device are described in more detail in the
operating instructions. The safety instructions have to be followed without fail.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture (e.g. in a bathroom)
must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, do not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the product for purposes
other than those described above may damage the product. In addition, improper use can cause hazards
such as short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe
place. Only make this product available to third parties together with its operating instructions.

Safety Information
Read the operating instructions carefully and observe in particular the safety instructions.
If you do not follow the safety information and information on proper handling in these
operating instructions, we will assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) General information
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorised
use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
• Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may damage the
product.
• Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of any other devices which
are connected to the product.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product, or if you have
concerns about safety.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be carried out by a technician or a specialist
repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical personnel.

b) Connected devices
• Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of any other devices which
are connected to the product.
c) Electrical safety
• The mains socket must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Use only a standard mains socket as the power source. Before plugging the product in, check
that the voltage indicated on the product corresponds to the voltage of your electricity supplier.
• Never unplug the mains plug by pulling on the cable. Always use the grips on the plug.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not plan to use the product for an
extended period of time.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket during thunderstorms.
• Ensure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or subjected
to mechanical stress. Avoid excess thermal stress on the mains cable due to excessive heat
or cold. Do not modify the mains cable. Failure to adhere to these instructions may lead to
damage of the mains cable. A damaged mains cable can cause a fatal electric shock.
• Do not touch the mains cable if there are any signs of damage. Power down the respective
mains socket (e.g. via the respective circuit breaker), and then carefully unplug the mains plug
from the mains socket. Never use the product if the mains cable is damaged.
• Damaged mains cables must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised repair centre
or a qualified electrician.
• Never connect or disconnect mains plugs when your hands are wet.
• Only use the power cable supplied with the product and certified for use in your country.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room into to a warm
one. This may cause condensation to form, which can destroy the product. Allow the product
to reach room temperature before connecting it and putting it into use. This may take several
hours.
d) Persons and product
• Do not disassemble the product. There is a risk of fatal electric shock!
• Store the oscilloscope in a well-ventilated place. Make sure that the instrument is properly
ventilated. Refer to the User Manual for more information.
• Do not work in areas where there is a danger of explosion.
• Keep all surfaces of the product clean and dry.
• Do not use the device in rooms or unfavourable ambient conditions in which there are or could
be combustible gases, vapours or dust.
e) Measuring mode
• Ensure that the probes are connected in the correct polarity. Do not connect the negative
measuring lead to the positive pole.
• Warning: The X and Y inputs of the oscilloscope are not electrically isolated. The channels
should adopt a common ground during measuring. To prevent short circuits, the 2 probe
grounds must not be connected to 2 different non-isolated DC levels. The oscilloscope ground
wire should be connected as follows:
Probe
Signal Input
Ground terminal
• Only use the supplied power adapter that is certified for use in your country.
• When the probe or test lead is connected to a voltage source, do not connect or disconnect
the probe or test lead at random.
• This instrument is grounded through the power adapter grounding conductor. To avoid an
electric shock, the grounding conductor must be grounded. The product must be grounded
properly before being connected to its input or output terminal.
• When powered by an AC power source, the AC power source cannot be measured directly,
as the testing ground and power adapter ground conductor are connected, and this would
cause a short circuit.
• Warning: To avoid a fire or electric shock, check all ratings and labels on the product. Before
connecting the product, refer to the User Manual for more information on ratings. When the
oscilloscope input signal connection is more than 42 V peak (30 Vrms) or on circuits of more
than 4800 VA, please take note of the following:
- Only use accessory insulated voltage probes and test lead.
- Before use, check all accessories (such as the probes) and replace if there is suspected
damage.
- Remove probes, test leads and other accessories immediately after use.
- Do not apply input voltages above the rating of the product, as the probe tip voltage will be
directly transmitted to the oscilloscope. Use with caution when the probe is set to 1:1.
- Do not use BNC or banana plugs with exposed metal points (without insulation).
- Do not insert metal objects into the connectors.
• Do not operate the instrument with covers or panels removed.
• Only use the specified type and rating fuse for the product.
• Do not touch exposed junctions and components when the instrument is connected to the
power source.
• If suspected damage is caused to the product, have it inspected by qualified service personnel
before further use.
• Ensure the product is installed with proper ventilation. Refer to the User Manual for more
information.
• Do not operate the product in wet conditions.
• Do not operate the product in an explosive atmosphere.
• Always keep the surfaces of the product clean and dry.
