Set-up
How to proceed:
1. If necessary, modify floor heater (→ Modifying the floor heater).
2. If necessary, modify lighting (→ Modifying the lighting).
3. Install biOrb EARTH (→ Installing the unit).
4. Fill biOrb EARTH (→ Filling the unit).
Modifying the floor heater
If required, you can adapt the floor heater to the needs of the organisms in the vivarium.
Moderate, tropical climate
Standard (factory installation)
 In a moderate or tropical climate, some plants
need soil moisture. It is therefore necessary to
insert the capillary mat and the foam mat.
 The heating cable heats the entire floor.

Desert-like climate
Variant
 A desert has no soil moisture. The capillary mat
and the foam mat should therefore not be in-
serted.
 We recommend covering the drain opening e.g.
with a cut piece of foam mat so that it is pro-
tected against clogging.
 The heating cable only heats a specific section of
the floor. This is usually the area where the de-
sert creatures rest.
