ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE (Fig. 2-3)
All rights reserved. Unauthorised copying or use of the information contained in this document is punishable by law
Caution
The circuit may only be powered up after all the foreseen components have
been assembled and not before.
1 Check that the surfaces to which the units are
to be fixed are perfectly level and aligned.
2) Choose the lowest point (65 mm min. between
the axis of the holes and the pavement) at
which the two lower support brackets are to
be fitted (Tx-Rx base), check that they are
vertically aligned and then run the power
supply cables to that area (see fig.2).
3) Only using the transmitter and receiver base
units (which have been temporarily wired up)
carry out the centring procedure (see relative
paragraph). This operation will allow you to work out
the exact position which the two base units will occupy in the installation.
Caution: disconnect the units before carrying on with the assembly procedure.
4) Drill the holes and fix the lower bracket to the wall using the supplied screws and
raw plugs. If the use of expansion units is not required then the upper bracket
should be positioned level with the upper edge of the aluminium base at this
point otherwise proceed as follows.
5) Slide out the plastic cover and slide the unit over the lower bracket, extract the
upper bracket for half of its length, drill the holes and fasten it to the wall.
6) Block the lower part of the aluminium base by tightening down the grub
bracket.
7) Insert the intermediate expansion unit (see fig.3), check
that the two connectors fit together perfectly, then
extract the unit, adjust the upper support bracket
"B" if necessary and then fasten it securely to
the wall.
8) Block the upper part of the aluminium base
by tightening down the grub screw (using
the hexagonal key "A") until it comes into
contact with the support bracket.
9) Carry out the electrical connections to the
main terminal board of the base unit (see
relative paragraph).
10) Fasten the circuits to the aluminium support
bases by tightening down all the screws on the
printed circuit board.
All rights reserved. Unauthorised copying or use of the information contained in this document is punishable by law
The screws should be tightened until they come into contact with the
soldered pads (don't force them).
N.B.: This action will ensure efficient shielding against external interfer-
ence.
11) Repeat points 7 to 10 for each expansion module.
12) Carry out all the required regulation and adjustments (see relative paragraphs)
and then insert the plastic cover and the two end pieces (see overview detail 6p).
N.B. If the type of installation requires that all the available space is to be covered
then the last expansion unit should be fitted as follows.
Install the base and intermediate expansion units
Fasten the upper bracket "A" at the desired height (see 4a)
Rotate the bracket through 90°, insert the terminal unit, rotate it back through
90° until it is in line with the rest of the units (fig.4a-4b).
Slide the terminal unit onto the intermediate unit (fig.4c) and fasten down.

Caution!
The system's aluminium base is electrically connected to the mass of the electrical
circuit: avoid making contact between the support base and the internal parts of
the circuits as this could irreversibly damage the system.
Whenever adjustments have to be made to the circuit (adjusting the position by
2
sliding the circuit up or down the groove in the base for example) always make sure
that the power supply has been disconnected.
TRANSMITTER BASE UNIT ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (fig 5a)
The power supply should only be wired to the transmitter unit and not to the receiver
unit.

• With a 12 Vac power supply the connection should be made at binding posts 1
and 3.
• With a 12 Vdc power supply the connection should be made between the mass
at post 3 and the live at binding post 2.
Warning: If you invert the polarity of the 12Vdc connection, the fuse "F1" will blow
(fig.6). To power up the system it will then be necessary to replace the fuse.
• The connection between the transmitter and the receiver is carried out using a
3
shielded cable (min. pole diameter of 0.5 mm and maximum length of 40 m),
the earth braid should be connected to binding post 4 while the pole should be
connected to post "5".
Caution!
To ensure the best possible working conditions for the appliance it is important that
A
high tension power supply cables (such as those supplying motors etc.) do not pass
near the shielded cable.
RECEIVER BASE UNIT ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (fig 5b)
There are three contacts on the receiver terminal board C-NA -NC for the connec-
tion of the electronic programmer.

The contact is at rest between C and NC.
The braid of the shielded cable should be connected to binding post 4, while the
pole should be connected to post 5.
SWITCHING ON
Once the electrical connection and the installation has been carried out the system
can be tuned and regulated
1) Insert the lower end pieces into the base units: this will activate the Tampers
T1 and T2 (see fig. 6a,6e). A non activated tamper will inhibit the synchronism
of the signal and block the system.
2) Determine the progressive order of any eventual expansion units by inserting
the Jumpers E1,E2,E3 (fig. 6d-6o) making sure that the first expansion is set to
E1 the second to E2 and so forth. Make sure that the jumpers on the receiver
expansion units have been inserted in pairs coupled together (see fig.6o).
3) Power up the system, the red leds L1 and L3 "Power" on the base units will light
up.

Setting the receiver sensitivity level
P.J.Heath
Date :
Draft :
The sensitivity should be regulated according to the distance between the transmitter

and the receiver. To set the correct sensitivity proceed as follows:
-
Work-out the distance separating the transmitter from the receiver.
-
Set the two-way switches "S1" (fig.6m) located on the amplifier unit (receiver
base - receiver expansion units)
-
For distances between 0.5 and 2 metres select the position "L".
-
For distances greater than these values select the position "H".
