Problem
Motor will not
start
Garden waste is
not drawn in
Unit won't shred
properly
Possible cause
No mains power sup-
ply
Overload protection tripped
Lid of housing not closed
properly
Shredding material is too
soft
Unit blocked
Shredding material in dis-
charge duct
Blades are blunt
Remedy
Check the socket, cable, lead and
plug for damage, and if neces-
sary, have any damage repaired
by qualified repair personnel.
Wait until the motor has cooled down,
then press the Reset button and re-
start the unit
Tightly screw in the housing interlock
Use the pusher or add dry twigs/
branches

Remove shredding material from dis-
charge duct
Check and turn, sharpen or replace
blades as necessary (see section
„Sharpening, turning, replacing the
blades")
