Caution!
❑ Observe all safety instructions (Warning!, Caution!, Note!) before starting the
individual mounting steps. Document the procedure in the boxes (❑) provi-
ded.
❑ The documentation supplied with the device (Operating Instructions, Safety
Instructions etc.) must also be observed in addition to these Installation
Instructions.
❑ Mounting, repair, commissioning and maintenance of the measuring points,
particularly for devices approved for use in explosion hazardous areas, must
only be carried out by properly qualified and trained technical staff.
❑ Local regulations regarding the opening and repair of electrical devices must
be observed.
❑ The corresponding pressure equipment directive must be observed for
measuring systems in pressure systems requiring approval.
❑ Risk of damaging electronic components! Establish a working environment
protected against electrostatic discharge. Make sure that you are grounded
with a ground cable before coming into contact with electronic modules.
❑ Measuring systems that are used in hazardous areas are supplied with sepa-
rate Ex documentation which is an integral part of these Operating Instruc-
tions. Strict compliance with the installation instructions and connection data
in the Ex documentation is mandatory! The symbol on the front of this sup-
plementary Ex documentation indicates the approval and the certification
body (0 1 2).
❑ Software compatibility! When replacing the amplifier or the I/O board, the
compatibility of the software must be ensured. The process for reading out
this software revision number is explained in the "Description of Device
Functions" manual, under the "AMPLIFIER VERSION" section. If the soft-
ware is not compatible, an update is run with the aid of the ToF Tool - Field-
tool Package. It is recommended to run an update with the ToF Tool - Field-
tool Package every time the board is replaced. If the update involves a func-
tional change, the agreement of the plant owner-operator must be obtained
beforehand.
❑ All the threads are right-hand threads (release counterclockwise).
❑ Observe torques: see the information in the graphic.
❑ Observe the instructions for transporting and returning the device outlined
in the Operating Instructions.
❑ Only genuine parts from Endress+Hauser Flowtec AG may be used.

Warning!
❑ In the case of toxic, explosive or flammable media, the pipe in which the
measuring device is installed must be purged with an inert gas, to remove all
traces of such media, before the measuring device is removed.
❑ Do not remove the device under pressure! Stop the process gas flow and
unpressurize the process pipe.
❑ Make sure that the process cannot be restarted during the removal work.
❑ Allow the system and device to cool to a touchable temperature.
❑ Risk of explosion!
Once the power supply has been switched off, a cooling time of at least
10 minutes must be observed for Ex devices before the housing is opened.
❑ Risk of electric shock!
Shock protection no longer applies once the electronics cover is removed.
The measuring device has to be switched off before internal covers are remo-
ved.
