This document contains all information required for the use and maintenance of the DEHNcare
series. Read this manufacturer information carefully before use to ensure proper protection! Failure
to take this information into account may result in serious injury. The declaration of conformity (pdf)

General notes:
The complete protective hood DEHNcare APHO with face shield (visor) must not be exposed to

direct sunlight for any longer than necessary.
The protective hood DEHNcare APHO with face shield (visor) is not suitable for welding.
Â
The protective hood DEHNcare APHO with face shield (visor) must not be subjected to open fire
Â
for long periods.
The surface of the face shield APS HO (visor) can heat up under electromagnetic radiation.
Â
Replace the face shield APS HO (visor) if it has come into contact with chemicals, oils or greases.
Â
Replace the face shield APS HO (visor) if it is damaged by mechanical force.
Â
Only original spare parts may be used.
Â
The work area must be adequately illuminated.
Â
Personal colour recognition in the work environment must be taken into account.

Do not use the protective hood DEHNcare APHO with face shield (visor) again if it was subjected

to an arc fault event or one or more of the aforementioned criteria for its replacement are met.
The face shields APS HO (visor) are made from a high-quality material and are therefore designed
Â
for long-term use (5 years). Polycarbonate is used as a base material for the manufacture of arc-
fault-tested face shields. Service life largely depends on use and storage. As a general rule, plas-
tics age under UV radiation and are sensitive to oils and lubricants. This is why the protective hood
APHO, and especially the face shield APS HO (visor), must undergo a visual inspection for external
damage prior to each instance of use and, in the event of mechanical damage – such as cracks,
scratches, etc. – the face shield APS HO (visor) must not be used. Replacing the face shield APS HO
(visor) is therefore recommended if one of the aforementioned criteria is already met. For safety
reasons, the user is encouraged to keep an eye on the duration of use and to find a suitable, safe
point in time for replacement. This is a general safety recommendation.
The extent to which freedom of movement for one's head and the visibility is reduced will differ

Materials that could come into contact with the skin of the wearer could cause allergic reactions

in susceptible individuals.
