ASK Cutting-out Set - Power Drive

Important notes:

• Do not use the Cutting-out Set Power Drive when the adhesive temperature is below 10°C.
(warm up vehicles first in the workshop in cold weather).
• Windscreens with metal positioning hooks in the area where the adhesive is applied, cannot
be cut out with the cutting string
• Cut-out operations must be performed only by qualified personnel after reading and taking
into consideration the safety notes and the operation details.
• The authorized person must wear proper protective equipment such as gloves and goggles
when working with this cut-out set.
• Only use the tools in accordance with the work instruction. Incorrect handling involves the
risk of injury or material damage. Furthermore there is no guarantee claim otherwise.
• Please make sure that during the cut-out operation, the cutting string does not damage
aggregates, pipes, tubes and cover panels and secure the windscreen from falling out.

Maintenance

The shafts, rollers and bearing seats must always be well lubricated!
Preparation
Remove any attachments that might be damaged by the cutting out of the windscreen, as e.g.
the wiper arms, cover strips, cover panels, interior mirror and connecting cables. You also need
a powerful, variable-speed cordless screwdriver with torque setting.
Insert the end of the cutting string in the inside of the vehicle from
the front between the two rollers of the Power Drive and place it
through the hole of the tensile axis. Place approx. 2cm of the string
crosswise onto the axis and secure with approx. 6 turns (same
direction as the later screwdriver direction – usually clockwise).
Do not interloop the cutting string → predetermined breaking point.
Put the Power Drive onto the windscreen. Attach to the windscreen
by pressing on the pump piston (until red mark of the handle is no
longer visible).
Prick the awl at the lower left corner from
inside to outside as long as the side slot of
the awl is freely accessible. Hang the cutting
string into the slot of the awl and pull it about
1.5m to the inside of the car.
