Cleaning and care
The helmet shell and inner lining should only be cleaned with lukewarm soapy
water. The lining of the helmet can also be treated with disinfectant (e.g. Heliosept
Medical Spray). On no account use solvents (e.g. thinners). Correct cleaning, care
and handling of the helmet are essential for ensuring that it functions optimally.
Changes to the helmet
Important! In its standard version, your helmet meets the applicable standards
and should therefore not be modifi ed or fi tted with any components or parts that
are not designed for it. Individual parts may only be replaced if they are exactly the
same as those originally supplied with the type-approved helmet or if they have
been specifi cally approved for the purpose by SCHUBERTH. The use of lining units
which were not designed for use with the helmet or of ones from other companies,
the drilling of additional holes to fi t accessories, or any other modifi cations can
seriously impair the helmet's protective function and render its approval invalid.
Only approved accessories may be used for the F 130. Please contact us if in
doubt.
Service life of the fi refi ghter helmet
The service life of this helmet depends on the material types used in its
construction as well as on the environment in which it is used and stored. This
fi refi ghter helmet with lacquered shell of further developed, highly temperature-
resistant duroplastic material (High-Temp-Fibre) demonstrates outstanding
resistance to ageing and is not susceptible to changes through sunlight (UV
radiation). The lifetime of the SCHUBERTH F 130 is
predominantly restricted by mechanical, thermal, atmospheric and chemical
infl uences. Duroplastics – such as the HighTemp Fibre used for this helmet – are
generally recognised as highly resistant to such stresses, and their ability to cope
with atmospheric, chemical and thermal infl uences is far greater than that of
thermoplastic materials.
Important! For the above reasons the helmet's service life may not exceed
a maximum of 15 years.

Checking the helmet's suitability for use
You should regularly check the helmet shell, lining, chinstrap and accessories
and especially after operational use such as in fi refi ghting, rescue and salvage
activities.
• Do not use the helmet once it has suffered damage; you should destroy it and
• Even in the event of damage that is not immediately visible, for example after
• You should also check the helmet's lacquer surface for damage. This is
• In the case of helmet damage caused by strong heat or direct contact with
Important! Because of the general ageing of the materials used in its
construction, the helmet should not be used for more than 15 years, even if it
displays no external damage or if the thumb pressure test has not revealed any
damage to the strength of the shell's structure. This applies to all parts of a
helmet.
Important! The helmet should on no account be used again after being subjected
to high stress, impact or other forces. This also applies even if no exterior damage
is visible.
obtain a replacement.
light impact, there is a possibility that the helmet's material structure might
have been damaged. You can check whether this is the case by applying a
thumb pressure test. If you fi nd you can indent the shell surface at the point
of the impact or at any other point, the strength of the shell's structure has
been impaired and the helmet now has to be destroyed and replaced.
because the special self-extinguishing structure of the lacquer plays an
important role for the helmet's thermal resistance. Damage to the lacquer
can therefore reduce the helmet's service life. Small surface scratches have
no negative effects on the helmet's protective function.

of the helmet's lacquer surface) the helmet must on no account be used again.
