Testing:
1. Block high-pressure inlet of pressure reducer with a
protective cap or with your thumb.
2. Insert mouthpiece or plug-in connector into your mouth and
inhale until a suction effect (negative pressure) is obtained.
Hold your breath for a moment. The negative pressure
should be maintained. Repeat the leak test twice.
3. Forcefully breathe out through the lung demand valve
several times. The exhalation valve must open slightly and
must not come loose from its seat.

Tests by service personnel

6.3.1

Preparation of tests

Screw pressure reducer and lung demand valve to a
pressure vessel.
The pressure valve is closed.
6.3.2

Low-pressure leak test

Moisten exhalation valve.
Generate negative pressure.
Negative pressure of –7.5 mbar to –8.5 mbar may change
(increase) by 2.0 mbar max. within 1 minute.
6.3.3

Opening pressure of lung demand valve

Open pressure valve.
Generate negative pressure; the lever valve of the
lung demand valve must open between –7 mbar and
–0.5 mbar.
6.3.4

Opening pressure of exhalation valve

Generate positive pressure.
Exhalation valve must open between +0.5 mbar and
+3.0 mbar.
6.4

Tests

If Dräger testing equipment is used, e.g. Dräger Testor or
Dräger Quaestor with SCUBA version, observe the
corresponding service manuals.

Storage

Store device depressurised, in a cool and dry place, protected
from dust and dirt and from direct sources of light and heat.
NOTICE
Observe ISO 2230 or national regulations.

Disposal

Dispose of the product in accordance with the applicable rules
and regulations.
