Handling
• Never operate the lamp immediately after bringing it from a cold room into a warm
room. The condensation may destroy the appliance under adverse circumstances.
• Leave the appliance turned off until it has reached room temperature. Wait
until the condensation has evaporated.
• Never plug in or unplug the power plug with wet hands.
• Never pull the power cord out of the socket by tugging on it. Use the ribbed sur-
face of the plug.
• If you do not use the appliance for a longer period of time, unplug it from the wall
outlet.
• Ensure sufficient ventilation of the appliance during operation. The air intake open-
ings (1) in the front panel as well as the ventilator openings (15) on the back of the
appliance may not be covered up under any circumstances! When installing the
rack during operation, always remove both rack panels!
• Always unplug the appliance from the wall outlet during thunderstorms.
• Do not listen to music at an excessive volume over longer periods of time. This
may damage your hearing.
Maintenance
Check the technical safety of the appliance at regular intervals, e.g. for damages on
the housing or the mains connection.
If safe operation can no longer be assured, put the appliance out of operation and
protect it from being used again accidentally! Pull the power plug out of the socket.
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if
the appliance shows visible damage,
• the product no longer functions
• after long storage under adverse conditions or
• after heavy transport strain.
Make sure you observe the following safety notices prior to cleaning or servic-
ing the power amplifier:

A pair of loudspeakers with a minimum impedance of 4 Ohm may be connected to
the loudspeaker outputs with SPEAKON jacks and screw terminals.
The power amplifier may also be operated as a mono amplifier in bridge operation.
This mode of operation provides a much higher output power but only for one chan-
nel. The minimum impedance with this type of operation is 8 Ohm.
A cut-in delay first connects the loudspeakers with the loudspeaker output when all
condensers in the appliance are loaded. This prevents the crackling of the loud-
speakers at the moment the appliance is turned on.
The protection circuit reacts to short circuits and DC voltage at the output and pre-
vents overheating. An additional protection circuit (V.PROTECT) monitors the mains
voltage. In case the defined limits are exceeded or undercut, the appliance turns off
automatically.
A built-in limiter protects the power amplifier from overload.
The built-in ventilators are temperature-controlled and keep the working temperature
at an acceptable limit even with high strain.
In order to prevent earth loops and humming, the earth of the power amplifier can be
disconnected from the grounding of the housing with the Ground Lift switch.
You can check the operating status of the appliance on different LED displays on the
front of the appliance.
Commissioning
In order to ensure proper commissioning, carefully read this oper-
ating manual with the safety notices!
Prior to connecting the power amplifier, turn it off along with all
other appliances you want to connect to it and separate them
from the power supply.
Proceed accordingly when changing the wiring.
Assembly / Installation
You can install the power amplifier on a level surface or in a rack.
For installation in a rack, screw it to the rack track with the attachment holes on the
front panel. You additionally have to attach it to the rack with the attachment holes at
the back of the appliance. Due to its high weight, you should always install the pow-
er amplifier in the bottom of the rack.
