HBL / HBLE Instructions for Use – Hitch Box for Load
Anchor system for loads

1. Area of application

The HBL / HBLE (Hitch Box for Load) rope loops serve as attachment points
in ceilings made of reinforced concrete for the temporary suspension and
movement of static motionless loads (2. Technical data, Table 1).
The HBL / HBLE is designed to be a «building product». During construc-
tion of the building ceiling, it is positioned true-to-size in the form-
work and then embedded in concrete (Page 7, installation instructions
HBL / HBLE/HBS).
After the forms are removed, the cable loops are positioned in the vertical
position and can be used as suspension points as soon as the concrete
has achieved a minimum strength of C20/25.

The description of the carrying capacity includes a safety factor

of ≥ 4 relating to rope loop or concrete failures, with a minimum load
hook radius of 6 mm. The load capacity also applies with a vertical load
application angle of ±15° in all directions.
If an application requires safety factors higher than 4, the
manufacturer must be contacted.
A reinforcement to prevent splitting is required in the lower reinforcement

layer to absorb splitting tensile forces resulting from the load distribution.
The required reinforcement area must be placed near the rope loops both
lengthwise and laterally with a length of L = 1.4 m.
The required minimum concrete strength must be in accordance with the
standard C20/25, Eurocode 2, with a minimum reinforcement strength
corresponding to valid national standards.

Inspection body

meet EN 795 safety standards for
personal fall protection.
For this, the Hitch Box for Safety
(HBS) can be used.
The HBL / HBLE may only be
installed, inspected and used by
qualified specialists.
