3. Integration options of the VCI DoD 95990401 into a network
Integration into a LAN or Wifi network is required for commissioning the VCI DoD 2.0. Both
options are explained below.

3.1 LAN network

1. Connect the VCI to the OBD socket on the vehicle.
2. Connect the VCI to the Ethernet connection cable with your network socket or your rout-
er. After a few seconds, the LED lights up orange and green on the Ethernet connection.
The module of the VCI is now online and ready for connection to the network.
Both LEDs are permanently lit. The VCI is connected to the server and you can use the DoD
service. A reset of the VCI is necessary if it is to be integrated into another Wifi network. The
VCI must be supplied with voltage via an OBD socket.
On the rear of the VCI there is a 2 mm hole into which a bent paper clip must be inserted to
actuate the switch of the VCI. The switch behind it must be pressed for approx. 15 seconds
until the orange and green LEDs go out on the Ethernet connection.
