The communication unit must be inserted
into the provided slide-in shafts of the card-
rack BT300.

Please take care that the communication unit
is fully inserted.
The front knurled bolts must be tightened.
Please take care that the front blind fits close-
ly to BT300.

Exchanging the battery

A battery buffered RAM is built into the com-
munication unit where data can be saved,
e.g. error list, actual value table. When power
is turned off, the data is saved due to the bat-
tery buffer. However, the data will be lost in
the "No Batt" mode or when the battery is ful-
ly discharged.
If the save function is not to be needed, no
battery is required. In this case, the jumper
must be moved from "Batt active" to "No
Batt".

Before inserting the
communication unit,
the card-rack BT300
must be switched to
neutral.

If the battery has run down, an error message
is generated.
To exchange the battery, please proceed as
follows:
– Remove the used up battery. Slightly lift
the holder with a screwdriver (see illustra-
tion) and push out the battery. Remove the
battery with your fingers.
By not means, remove the battery
with a conducting tool (e. g. tweez-
ers) - danger of short circuit.
– Insert a new battery: the positive terminal
must face the holder (upward). For inser-
ting, slightly lift the holder and push in the
battery.
– Resetting the real-time clock (operating
programme)
