Safety information for
batteries
WARNING! Risk of chemical
burns and poisoning from battery
acid! Leaking battery acid can
cause burns. If children swallow
batteries, the batteries can leak
and cause poisoning or death.
• Keep batteries out of reach of
children.
• Avoid battery acid coming into
contact with skin, eyes and mu-
cous membranes. In the event
of coming into contact with the
acid, rinse the affected areas
with plenty of water and consult
a doctor if necessary.
• If you suspect that a battery has
been swallowed or otherwise
entered the body, seek medical
advice immediately.
WARNING! Risk of injury and
damage! Incorrect use of batteries
can damage the surrounding com-
ponents and cause bodily harm
from escaping battery fluid.
• Never remove the casing from
batteries, do not short-circuit
batteries or try to charge batte-
ries.
• Never expose batteries to a
source of heat, fire or direct sun-
light.
• Make sure that the battery po-
les are correctly aligned when
inserting them into the battery
compartment.
CAUTION! Risk of burns!
Batteries can leak, especially if
they are old. There is a risk of
burns if you come into direct con-
tact with battery acid.
• Avoid battery acid coming into
contact with skin, eyes and mu-
cous membranes.
• If you have come into contact
with battery acid, rinse the af-
fected area with plenty of clean
water and seek a doctor imme-
diately.
• If your eyes come into contact
with battery acid, rinse your
eyes immediately with cold
water for a minimum of 10 mi-
nutes. Seek the assistance of a
doctor as fast as possible.
• Take leaking batteries out of the
battery compartment immediate-
ly.

Preparation

WARNING! Risk of injury due to un-
intentional device start-up. Do not insert the
plug into the socket until the device is fully
prepared for use.

Inserting the batteries

1. Open the battery compartment (16).
Remove the screw from the battery
compartment cover.
2. Insert the batteries provided. Make
sure that the battery poles are correctly
aligned when inserting them into the
battery compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment.
Fasten the cover of the battery compart-
ment using the screw.
