C. With the rechargeable battery

A dirty cigarette lighter can get hot. Ensure that the car adaptor is
only connected to a clean cigarette lighter.
Disconnect the 12 V adaptor after use from unit and cigarette
lighter.
Charge up the battery before initial use.
The rechargeable battery is intended for portable use and for the
viewing of DVDs out of doors.
Recharging the Battery
1. Insert the alternating current adapter into the DC IN 9-12 V socket
on the device.
2. Connect the alternating current adapter to a correctly installed
socket with earthing contact. The charge indicator lights up in red.
3. The rechargeable battery is fully charged when the charge indicator
changes to green. You should then disconnect the alternating cur-
rent adapter from the electricity mains.
CAUTION:
The alternating current adapter is only intended for use with this
device. Do not use with other devices.
If the device is not going to be used for a prolonged period, the
adapter must be disconnected from the power socket.
Stop using the device if you notice any problems with the rechar-
geable battery, such as overheating, swelling or unusual smells, and
contact the Service Centre.
Do not charge the battery if the device is standing on a surface
that is inadequately ventilated, such as a mattress, sofa, cushion,
soft underlay etc.
There is a danger of explosion if the rechargeable battery is re-
placed by the incorrect type or thrown into water or a fire.
Do not expose the rechargeable battery to direct sunlight or high
temperatures (over 40°C [140°F]), such as on the dashboard.
Do not expose the rechargeable battery to any hard impact or
pressure.
Avoid overcharging the battery, as well as a deep discharge,
excessive currents, operation at excessively high temperatures (over
40°C) or excessively low temperatures (below 0°C) and long-term
storage in a discharged condition. This may result in damage to the
rechargeable battery.
NOTE:
If the power of the rechargeable battery falls, playback stops.
If the "
" flashes on the display, the battery is low. The battery
has to be charged up.
Only the original adapter and the original charging device should
be used to charge up the battery.
Charge up the battery shortly before the next time it is used.
