How to install your RECARO seat
Depending on the vehicle type, select
either:
An unoccupied fuse holder with ignition-
current interruption in the fuse box.
Attach the red cable (+) with the flat-pin
bushing onto the connection terminal of the
fuse holder. Insert a 15 A fuse.
or:
A terminal with ignition-current interruption
on the unprotected side in front of the fuse
box.
In this case, the accompanying fuse holder
(3) with the 15 A fuse must be built in to the
red cable (+).
It is especially important that the fuse
holder is as close as possible to the
terminal and is easily accessible. Lay
the short, unprotected part of the supply
cable with extra care, to prevent short-
circuits.
Provide both cable ends with a flat-pin
bushing (5) each and insert them into the
fuse holder (3).
Insert the accompanying 15 A fuse into the
fuse holder (3).
Seat-occupancy/child seat detector:
Passenger seats can be equipped with a
seat-occupancy detector.
whether a passenger seat is occupied by a
person, a child seat or nothing at all. The
passenger airbag (front airbag) and, if
applicable, any belt tensioners or side
airbags are operated, depending on the
results obtained. If this is the case with your
vehicle, you must observe the following:
Have the seat-occupancy
deactivated at a workshop contracted by
your vehicle manufacturer.

Mounting the armrest
The armrest is not mounted to the
RECARO seat when delivered and is
supplied with separate mounting instruc-
tions.
Mount the armrest as described in the
separate mounting instructions.

Risk of injury by passenger
front airbag
The front airbags are always active
after a RECARO
installed. Deactivation in case of an
unoccupied seat or an installed child
seat is not applicable. For this reason,
child seats may never be mounted
onto the passenger seat in such
cases.
Child-seat qualification
The safety systems for usage of child
seats on the standard passenger seat
depend on the vehicle type. Approval
for use with a child seat is voided
when a RECARO seat is installed as
the passenger seat. Permission to use
a child seat on the passenger seat
must be re-evaluated using the vehicle
documentation and the instructions
for the child seat. Information on
negating any existing information in
